Cédric Grolet • Singapore

Cédric Grolet offers French patisserie and viennoiserie with a distinctive style: hyper-realistic fruit and flower desserts, along with classic croissants, pain au chocolat, pain suisse, cakes, cookies, and tea-time selections like mini pastries and sandwiches at the ground level of the Como Metropolitan Hotel in Singapore.

The menu features savory breakfast and all-day à la carte options, positioning it as an upscale pastry destination, which is renowned for its blend of technique, visual design, and flavor clarity. Grolet’s style is renowned for their style of favoured desserts resembling real fruit, with thin and light mousses, fruit jellies, and layered crisp textures that emphasize freshness and precision over heavy sweetness. With this approach, we can see the attempts made on peaches, roses, mangoes, strawberries and the list goes on, with each innovation, a new taste offer!

Rosette Media Taste Panel Rating : 9/10

We can see that there is good effort to maximize the fruit's expression and henceforth it uses less sugar, which explains why the desserts taste bright, clean, and elegant. People visit for three main reasons: the craft, the aesthetics, and the refined taste. The pastries are often described as art-like in beauty but crafted to be consumed, not just admired, which gives the brand strong appeal among dessert enthusiasts and luxury diners. The croissants and filled viennoiseries are particularly attractive because they offer classic French pastry texture with a refined finish. Cedric Grolet serves desserts that resemble sculptures, taste like modern French patisserie, and exude luxury from the first look to the last bite.

Cédric Grolet Singapore’s standard set at Sgd98 is a meticulously staged expression of modern French luxury from 1230h to 430h in the afternoon. For Sgd130 one can top up to a champagne option. The sandwiches comprising Smoked Salmon, Cucumber cream cheese and Ham comté offer a savoury punch before our indulgment in their signatures of June 2026, including the mango (love this!), strawberry, yellow peach (awesome), blueberry cheesecake flower (my weakness and a delight to see this), raspberry vanilla icecream (what brilliance!), chocolate marble cake, together with scone and chouquette with lovely dips. We tried the Iced Coco Punch and the coconut was relised deep down as a couplet flavour and also an Iced Latte, a choice of 2 drinks for each set!

Each creation arrives with precision and restraint, balancing visual drama with an elegant lightness that reflects June’s signature patisserie artistry. The flavors are polished and refined, unfolding in layers of fruit brightness, silken creams, crisp textures, and immaculate finishing, just spectacular!

The experience is compelling due to its composure. The setting, presentation, and choreography of the set create an atmosphere of quiet indulgence, where every detail is considered, and every bite is designed to impress without excess, we actually pondered before tasting each signature pastry dish and this give us impression and development of it's true character.

It’s a tasting journey that prioritises finesse over sweetness, craftsmanship over comfort, and spectacle over familiarity, appealing to those who appreciate pastry as both culinary art and luxury ritual. The Cedric Grolet experience truly embodies the essence of contemporary patisserie luxury: sculptural, restrained, and exquisitely composed in more ways than one. The dining experience is characterized by immaculate presentation and a palette of refined flavors that favor brightness, texture, and precision over overt indulgence and it's canvas of expression is beyond doubt, just absolutely fascinating.

It is an encounter with French pastry at its elevation and always Instagrammable!
