Located in the heart of Penang’s Central Business District, Bayan Lepas, it is just a 5-km drive from Penang International Airport, and we found its location so convenient, only a 15 minute drive from the Airport, absolutely fast, as we do not like long surface transfers, so this location is just perfect, and the hotel is located 9 km from the Penang Bridge.

The hotel is conveniently linked to SPICE Convention Centre, the world’s first hybrid solar-powered M.I.C.E. venue and a truly mega complex on it's own merit, with nearby entertainment facilities like SPICE Arena, SPICE Aquatic Centre, and SPICE Canopy all located within the SPICE-precinct destination, all with top convenience for access for all business and MICE visitors to these locations!

Accommodation

Amari SPICE Penang features 453 guest rooms, which also comprise 13 one-bedroom suite and 1 Presidential suite, all with a modern feel and design, thus providing for a cozy, home-like atmosphere and thoughtful details. Each room and suite includes a smart workspace with a smart TV and sound bar, high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, and a personal coffee machine with a selection of capsule coffee for most room categories. We appreciate the design and space considerations of our Executive Deluxe room, but most importantly, the view is simple breath-taking and provides for a scenic perspective of the Bayan Lapas district in Penang.

When we arrived at the hotel, we checked in at the Club Tiffin reception and it just took a minute, no fuss, and absolutely efficient and fast. Amazing! Guests in the Executive Suites have exclusive access to Club Tiffin, which offers a higher level of personalized service, including complimentary daily breakfast, evening cocktails, and all-day light snacks and beverages, all while enjoying panoramic views of Penang, so we took refuge here to chill and un-wind, throughout our entire stay! We love the scenic views here, and thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness of Club Tiffin, making every moment delightful!

Dining Experience

We relished breakfast at the Amaya Food Gallery, savoring special dishes of simple home-cooked comfort food like Penang Nasi Lemak and Lontong, all crafted in a Penang-centric style. As their signature all-day dining venue, Amaya Food Gallery offers a blend of east-meets-west international cuisine, popular local favorites, and Thai-infused selections in a street market-inspired setting with a live kitchen.

The Cellar, a private dining wine room, provides a curated set menu and can host up to 12 guests, making it perfect for intimate gatherings. Amaya Terrace offers an ideal sit & chill alfresco dining experience amidst the tropical gardens, and perfect oasis to chill, during the evening.

For dinner, we enjoyed a unique first-ever Thai collaboration between Amari SPICE Penang with Chef Sahadol Tantrapim “Pond,” a MasterChef Thailand Season 3 and MasterChef All Stars 2019 finalist and the creative force behind Khaosan Tapas Bar, in Georgetown, in Penang. We completely immersed ourselves in Thai culinary taste and culture, relishing the authentic flavors of his signature Thai creations, such as Larb Kua, Khao Soi, Pla Rad Prik, and Ma Muang. So delicious!

Spa Therapy & Treatment

We're well-acquainted with the Breeze Spa brand, which we consider a crucial element of the entire Amari wellness theme and hotel experience. We looked forward to our spa treatment and upon entering this modern retreat, we embarked on a sensorial holistic journey, starting with a welcome drink and a body assessment to identify areas needing attention in our spa routine, from the very attentive Spa team leader.

There were two of us, so we opted for two different mood massages, each lasting 60 minutes. I chose the Rejuvenated spa massage, an aromatic treatment using techniques with carefully selected essential oils to accelerate the elimination of toxins accumulated from stress, pollution, and a hectic lifestyle. I appreciated it because it left me feeling and looking radiant, invigorated, and ready to face the world, and I felt truly relaxed after my session. Simply Wonderful!

My partner selected the Energised spa massage, a traditional Thai massage featuring a blend of ten traditional Thai herbs in a warm herbal compress that exuded earthy aromas and healing properties. After being stretched and experiencing the proper Thai kneading techniques to release tension, there was a profound recovery throughout the body and a surge of positive energy, immaculate in all dimensions!

After the massage, we returned to the reception area, where we enjoyed another delightful, relaxing tea and engaged in a lively discussion about our spa routine and post-treatment feedback. Inspired by the core foundation for wellness, Breeze Spa is a sanctuary of natural beauty and splendor that awakens the senses and revitalizes our bodies. Breeza Spa is a highly recommended must-visit relaxation spot when visiting Amari SPICE Penang.

Events - Meeting Spaces

Amari SPICE Penang is an ideal venue for vibrant events, as evidenced by the fact that all their meeting rooms were occupied during our visit. This underscores their prime location for appealing to the corporate sector, whether for full-day meetings, conferences, company retreats, annual dinners, or weddings. Their 240-square-meter, pillarless ballroom, Jadiete, can host up to 170 guests and is complemented by a large pre-function area and five additional rooms designed for small to medium-sized meetings.
