  • NCS Impact Forum : An Elaborative AI Transformation Initiative

NCS launches S$130M AI transformation initiative across Asia Pacific focused on Intelligentisation, Internationalisation, and Inspiration In a time when AI is crucial for driving transformation, NCS today revealed a S$130 million investment over the next three years to spearhead change throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. During its annual flagship Impact Forum, which was attended by over 1,200 leaders and technology professionals from APAC, NCS presented a vision where technology crosses borders, best practices are exchanged across various markets, and AI is used to enhance communities rather than replace human abilities. NCS introduced Sunshine.AI, a collection of AI tools and accelerators designed to revolutionize how organizations create intelligent solutions. NCS also announced strategic alliances with leading global technology companies and reinforced collaboration with research institutions, fostering a vibrant community of AI experts that boosts NCS’ AI capabilities and regional leadership. "With AI reshaping industries as it becomes more accessible than before, we’re partnering government agencies and enterprises to help them harness the best of AI not just for efficiency gains but to advance communities,” said NCS CEO Ng Kuo Pin. “Expanding our APAC footprint and doubling down on collaborations with technology leaders are still important in a bifurcated world. The investment we are making over the next three years and our blueprint anchored by three pillars – Intelligentisation, Internationalisation and Inspiration – will better enable our people and clients to create new business outcomes and build a resilient, innovative future with AI,” he added. Intelligentisation: More than Digitalisation – A Blueprint for AI-Powered Transformation Intelligentisation is a comprehensive, structured strategy for integrating intelligence into the core of business processes, government workflows, and human experiences. This involves designing AI systems not as isolated tools but as essential parts of decision-making, service delivery, and operational flow. Key to this are NCS's proprietary tools, accelerators, and methodologies. From assessment through design to implementation, the NCS Sunshine suite of tools is specifically designed for developers, IT operations teams, and corporate users. It includes: • Sunshine.Coder, an AI coding assistant that facilitates language conversion, test generation, and code analysis • Sunshine.Operations, an AIOps platform aimed at automating incident triage, system log analysis, and operational task flows • Sunshine.Productivity, a collection of tools that improve daily tasks such as summarization, content retrieval, and secure document management. NCS's accelerators include proprietary frameworks, code libraries, and deployment toolkits that emulate human cognitive functions like perception, reasoning, decision-making, and action. This approach acknowledges that AI's strength depends on a system's digital resilience, which encompasses Cybersecurity, Data Backbone, Applications Interplay, Infrastructure Robustness, and Operations Responsiveness. These elements guarantee that organizations have the qualities needed for continuous AI adoption. For instance, NCS has entered into a five-year Master Agreement with Singapore’s HTX to design HTX’s foundational data core, incorporate intelligence like Agentic AI into systems, implement quantum-safe technologies, and expand robotics solutions. This partnership aims to integrate and streamline data across Home Team agencies and infuse next-generation intelligence into systems to boost operational efficiency. Moreover, Singtel Group is collaborating with NCS to embed AI as a fundamental capability throughout its business, positioning AI as a strategic catalyst. As Singtel’s AI-implementation division, NCS will develop solutions utilizing its extensive range of tools, including the Sunshine.AI suite, along with Gen AI and Agentic AI resources and accelerators. Singtel and NCS will work together to identify, shape, and achieve impactful opportunities, using AI to transform operations, enhance customer experience, and fortify its data, AI, and cloud infrastructure. This includes optimizing customer value management through personalization, streamlining processes, and developing autonomous networks – all based on a foundation that supports scalable AI adoption. "Intelligentisation means treating AI as part of the enterprise's core nervous system, engineered with the same rigour, trust, and responsiveness demanded of mission-critical infrastructure," explained Kuo Pin. Internationalisation: Fragmentation – the Reason for Collaboration With the global AI landscape becoming fragmented across various technology stacks, governance models, and digital ecosystems, international collaboration and reliable technology partners are more crucial than ever for providing significant value to clients. Regional AI Capability Expansion : In March, NCS revealed a Joint Venture with Globe Telecom of the Philippines to acquire a majority stake in its technology services division, Yondu. This move will bring   1,200 technology experts into the NCS team, enhancing its capabilities in Agentic AI, Data Foundation, and Data Management services. These professionals will join the current NCS workforce of 13,000 across Singapore, Australia, Greater China, India, and Southeast Asia, allowing NCS to better serve its clients. Additionally, Globe Telecom and NCS are collaborating to develop telco-centric solutions that address specific telecommunications transformation challenges in the region. Inspiration: Empowering people, hyper-localising AI, advancing communities As AI progresses, worries about job displacement and losing control may increase among the public. However, this offers a chance to create AI that enhances human abilities instead of replacing them, maintaining humans at the core. Inspiration goes beyond being a theme. It is a call to action for business leaders to use this powerful technology to benefit communities, fostering a future where people and AI grow together, not separately. Advancing Hyperlocal AI Ecosystem : NCS plays an active role in shaping Singapore's AI landscape through collaborative efforts that emphasize cultural relevance and ethical development. As a major industry partner with AISG's SEA-LION, the company aids in refining language models tailored for Southeast Asian contexts and applies them in enterprise operations. As a founding member of the MERaLiON Consortium, NCS promotes the use of conversational AI that reflects regional languages and operational contexts, ranging from next-generation contact centers to enterprise productivity assistants. NCS also contributes to the Infocomm Media Development Authority's AI Verify Foundation, showcasing its dedication to establishing internationally recognized standards for AI reliability, safety, fairness, and robustness, and helping define how AI systems can be measured and trusted at scale. Uplifting an Entire Workforce : Over 10,000 NCS employees have become AI-enabled through extensive training, industry certifications, and hands-on implementation experience. This includes more than 1,000 professionals certified across major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, forming an AI-capable workforce ready to lead clients through complex transformations. "Intelligentisation is how we harness AI, Internationalisation is who we work with, and Inspiration is why we do this — to advance communities," said Kuo Pin. "This is central to NCS' purpose. We partner with governments and enterprises to harness the best of AI not just for efficiency gains, but to uplift people and advance communities." • Amara Sanctuary Sentosa

Origin & Introduction Situated on a hillside in Singapore’s top island retreat, Amara Sanctuary Sentosa covers 3.8 hectares of well-maintained gardens and natural rainforest, providing a peaceful escape rich in history. The resort features 140 guest rooms, suites, villas, and a mansion, enhancing its unique character by blending beautifully restored colonial architecture with modern design elements. Each building conveys a sense of place and heritage, perfectly balancing the island’s rich history with contemporary features. This Heritage-centric Sentosa Resort captures the tranquility of its environment with calming biophilic interior designs. Amara Sanctuary Sentosa ushers in a new era of tranquility on Sentosa Island with revamped interiors. The design concept for Amara revolves around the origin and purpose of water, and you can see this primary focus in various thematic zones as you move across and within the resort; Amara is lifted by the triple nomenclature pathways of Immortality, Contentment and Joy and Beautiful (Forever), based on different language origins. Utilizing the creative expertise of the cross-disciplinary design studio FARM, known for its holistic spatial approach, the updated spaces seamlessly blend contemporary aesthetics with biophilic elements. Honouring the island's maritime heritage as a former military fortress and the estate’s 100-year legacy, the redesign features a careful selection of natural materials, including indigenous stone, venerable timber, and reclaimed wood upcycled from traditional fishing vessels. The island’s lush surroundings are also reflected through vibrant plants, transforming previously underutilized spaces into serene oases for mindful contemplation. Central to the estate's transformation is the magnificent lobby, where a celestial skylight creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow. Drawing attention to the center of the area is a grand four-metre Pithecellobium Confertum 'Everfresh Tree' accompanied by Davallia Fejeensis shrub, highlighting nature's serene beauty as guests first experience the hotel. At night, guests can watch the tree close its leaves as it conserves water. While the lobby is designed to encourage travelers to connect with one another, it also features snug corners for guests to enjoy moments of relaxation. Amara Sanctuary Sentosa’s lush tropical gardens, home to free-roaming peacocks, squirrels, and native flora and fauna, offer guests an immersive experience in harmony with nature. These green surroundings is spectacular and soothing to the eye as it showcases the resort’s commitment towards environmental sustainability and creating a peaceful oasis for travelers. Amara Sanctuary Sentosa’s comprehensive dining and wellness facilities complement the resort’s historic charm, providing the perfect setting for an idyllic island retreat.  Rooms, Suites and Villas The biophilic design philosophy is evident in the revamped Villas and Suites, which create a seamless atmosphere of nature-inspired elegance throughout the resort. To facilitate a smooth transition between outdoor and indoor environments, the new design utilizes plants and greenery to instill a sense of calm and relaxation among guests. Numerous planters are strategically placed to enhance the setting, while the outdoor courtyards and foyers offer spaces with daybeds, new settees, hammocks, or bar tables inviting guests to enjoy the sunshine and the colonial architecture. We stayed in a couple suite complete with direct pool access at Larkhill Terrace. Measuring 58 square metres, the room comes complete with a suite of amenities, including complimentary mini-bar with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, complimentary welcome amenities, flat-screen TV with cable channel access, individually controlled air-conditioning, outdoor bathtub and rain-shower facilities (we love this as this symbolises the uniqueness of this couple suite), bathroom amenities by Appelles Apothecary and Lab, in-room bathrobes and slippers, tea and Nespresso coffee-making facilities. The room was truly spacious, clean, minimalist in feel with a soothing and relaxing holiday resort ambience, just perfect for rejuvenation! This distinctive two-story heritage building, once a British army barracks, has been transformed to accommodate our Couple Suites on the ground floor of Larkhill Terrace. These suites effortlessly blend classic charm with modern elegance, offering direct access to a stunning 45-metre infinity pool. The expansive private patio features a frameless outdoor bathtub and a daybed for leisurely relaxation. Designed with romantic escapes in mind, the soothing aroma from the in-room diffuser creates a peaceful ambiance, matching our preference for choosing a resort filled with romance and history. The rooms feature sand-inspired tones, infusing the area with a coastal tranquility that complements the nearby Palawan Beach located just behind the resort - it was just a 5 minutes walk, so we walked down to explore the nearby beach setting, especially lovely during sunset! Nature’s hues are also incorporated, from lush greens to warm tans, along with natural materials like rattan, timber, and sisal. Furthermore, the Verandah Studios and Suites have been converted into dual-key apartments with kitchenettes to cater to the growing number of multi-generational family travelers. Amara Heritage Trail As we embarked on the Heritage Trail conducted by Suresh, who has been working at Amara for the past 10 years, we knew that we would be in very good hands, as we love to hear stories from folks who have passion working for the property. Suresh brought me on a comprehensive tour, along various stops around the Amara resort to uncover unique insights and tales from historic Singapore, Sentosa, and the British Colonial era as we wandered in awe through the grounds of Amara Sanctuary Sentosa, a former British Army site from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The pit-stop stations along the Trail uncovered memories and stories from a different era, from the time when British troops were based in Singapore, to the British families who live here, to the war-time bunkers that were being used to shelter residents from bomb raids, to the type of trees, orchards, vegetation and landscape dotted all along the pathway with an organic garden, to the unique bell structure (commissioned by the owner) that hangs above the private wedding solemnisation hall, and the various facilities, amenities and restaurants within Amara Sanctuary Sentosa. British guests who come back to view the Resort add a sense of aura and mystery as they shared their experience living in the colonial quarters during that time. The trail is available daily from 4pm to 5pm; a t the end of the tour, we adjourned to the Tearoom Sanctuary where we had a chance to sample and savour a specially crafted Gunner cocktail, meant for those who take on this Heritage Trail along with a cute softie, a mini peacock, to enliven our memorable stay and trail experience! So thoughtful! Ticketing: S$12 nett per person for Amara Sanctuary In-House Guests S$18 nett for Public Complimentary for Amara Sanctuary Sentosa suite and villa guests Sanctuary Tearoom : Breakfast The brand-new Sanctuary Tearoom is centrally located within the resort, serving as its primary dining area. This minimalist restaurant can accommodate 146 guests, with 88 seats indoors and 58 in the alfresco area. It adapts to different occasions, whether it's the daily breakfast buffet offering a variety of hearty local dishes or private events celebrating life's most treasured moments. The decor features earth-toned furniture paired with handwoven rattan lanterns and tall greenery, reflecting the resort's lush, nature-inspired design. A patio with comfortable settees overlooks the lobby's impressive water feature, while floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of the scenic lawn outside, making Sanctuary Tearoom an ideal setting for weddings meant to be unforgettable. We had a wonderful spread for breakfast, ranging from fruits, yoghurt cold hams, assortment of breads, cakes, kuey, porridge with local condiments, pork slices braised with soya bean sheet, dace fish, braised peanuts, glutinous rice that is truly a delight, egg station, noodles and soup, Simply awesome! At Rosette Media, we had the opportunity to sample and taste a variety of their distinguished wines from Demeine Estates hailing from different wineries and hills, ranging from Burgess, Stony Hill, Ink Grade, Trailside Vineyard and Heitz Cellar, and we took particular interest for Heitz Cellar when we met with Philana along the auspices of the TFWA 2025 show in Singapore, and also attended a lovely wine pairing dinner hosted by the folks from Water and Wine, https://waterandwine.net/  together with the entourage from the Singapore Chapter of The International Wine & Food Society https://www.iwfs.org/asia-pacific/singapore Heitz Cellar “Heitz Martha’s Vineyard is one of Napa’s iconic bottlings; the 1974 counts among the greatest wines in Napa history.” – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator. Since its establishment in 1961, Heitz Cellar has been family-owned, establishing a profound legacy. It is regarded as a legendary winery, significantly influencing the history of winemaking in Napa Valley. In the late 1950s, visionary vintner Joe Heitz initiated Napa's modern era with his iconic, globally acclaimed pure varietal, single-vineyard wines known for their longevity, including Napa Valley's first vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon, the famed Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard. The Heitz family's 60-year dedication to viticulture, stewardship, and timeless post-prohibition style winemaking has sustained the winery's reputation as a benchmark among its peers in California and Europe. In April 2018, Heitz Cellar embarked on an exciting new chapter as this rich legacy was entrusted to the Lawrence family, whose strong agricultural roots and commitment to the same core values of fine winemaking made them an ideal fit. Brittany Sherwood, Director of Winemaking, who has been with Heitz Cellar for over 13 years, continues to produce wines with unwavering dedication to quality using organically farmed, 100% Napa Valley fruit, and a commitment to Napa Valley's sustainability.   Heitz Cellar boasts prized estate vineyards located in six of Napa Valley’s sub-appellations: Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, Oak Knoll District, and Calistoga. This diversity in terroir allows for the creation of wines that truly represent their place of origin. As a proud leader in agricultural stewardship, 100% of the vineyards at Heitz Cellar are certified CCOF organic and farmed using biodynamic practices. At Heitz Cellar, they cherish their history and legacy with a full commitment to their vision and goals to maintain the winery’s heritage. We showcase 3 of their distinctive wines from Heitz Cellar as we sampled them at TFWA and at the IWFS Dinner in Singapore. Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville, Napa Valley Since 1966, Heitz Cellar has been producing the renowned Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, one of our three vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignons. Concealed from view and nestled within the Oakville bench on the western side of Napa Valley is the cherished thirty-four-acre plot, aptly named Martha’s Vineyard. The exclusive cabernet “Martha’s Clone” is celebrated for its small berries with a deep purple color, rich flavor, and distinctive minty aroma. During aging, only the finest barrels from the vineyard are chosen and bottled as our Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. After fermentation, the wine spends a year in neutral oak tanks to settle and refine. It is then transferred to hand-selected, 100% new French Limousin oak wide-grain barrels, allowing a slow and gentle integration of the toast and vanilla notes from the barrel to blend with the wine. Three years later, Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet is ready for bottling, where it continues to mature gracefully for an additional year before being released from the cellar. A wine of balance and unique, almost mysterious qualities, Martha’s Vineyard is their flagship wine and a true Napa Valley icon. The 2018 vintage is bursting with blackberry, plum and slight cherry notes, with nuances of mint and cassis; the colour is strong, full bodied, rich and very smooth, elegant, velvety, intense yet soft and an outstanding long finish; Rosette Media Rating : 97/100 Lot C-91 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley The story of Lot C-91 started in the fall of 1969 with the concept that by carefully selecting and assembling sites, we could create something greater than its individual components. This historic cuvée is exclusively sourced from the esteemed single vineyards of Heitz Cellar, highlighting a truly unique expression of Napa Valley's terroir. “Lot C-91 is the culmination of 50 years of tireless effort, trial and error, and the continual desire to make a most unique expression of the heralded vineyards of Heitz Cellar. We are honored to re-release this cuvée, in honor of Joe Heitz.” Lot C-91 is a historical cuvée with remarkable depth, complexity, and aging potential, sourced from prized parcels in Western Oakville, Eastern Rutherford, Southeast Howell Mountain, and the foothills of St. Helena. It represents a significant enhancement in quality compared to the renowned Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for nine months in large neutral casks and a mix of new and used French oak, Lot C-91 showcases the density and length that only the world's finest wines can achieve. The savory notes of sage, rosemary, cured meats, and black pepper set this cuvée apart. The finish of Lot C-91 on the palate reveals exceptional complexity and harmony, promising rewards for those who can wait for decades. The Lot C-91 is a full-bodied wine with a good influence of old oak, black cherries, blue berries, sage and rosemary; we tasted hints of mocha, super elegant and well balanced, ripe and awesome long finish and definitely more complex than their regular Napa Valley Cabernets. Rosette Media Rating : 95/100 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford, Napa Valley Since 1984, this remarkable vineyard has been part of the Heitz estate, producing one of our three single-vineyard cabernet sauvignons. Situated between Silverado Trail and Conn Creek on the fertile eastern side of the Rutherford appellation, only the finest blocks are chosen for this terroir-driven cabernet sauvignon. Comprising a tapestry of sixteen blocks of cabernet sauvignon, planted with seven different clones across layers of eight distinct soil types over eighty-five acres, the enchanting Trailside Vineyard epitomises the Rutherford terroir. “The alluvial soil combined with a gradual slope towards Conn Creek makes this site ‘textbook perfect’ for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. We have planted the vines on an east-west orientation to evenly ripen the fruit throughout the day with dappled, gentle sunlight, resulting in small berries and ultimately, a smooth and concentrated wine.” – Brittany Sherwood, Winemaker. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon, each block from Trailside is individually crushed and fermented, remaining unblended during its initial year in neutral oak tanks. Afterward, the wine moves to 100% new French Limousin oak barrels, where each lot is regularly tasted and assessed over two years. The finest barrels are then chosen to become the Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines continue to age separately by lot for an additional year in barrels, totaling four years in oak, before finally being blended for bottling. Once bottled, the Trailside matures for another year before being released from our cellar. Known for its classic Rutherford character and elegant structure, the 2018 vintage showcases a good balance of red and dark fruit notes with herbal undertones, blackcurrants, plums, cherries and dried mint. It is medium bodied, vibrant, velvety and smooth, with tobacco and spice notes omnipresent throughout the wine and a wonderful long finish. Rosette Media Rating : 96/100 The Heitz Cellar Promise Acquiring wine directly from Heitz Cellar offers the assurance that only ex-château provenance can provide. These pristine wines have never left their cellars. Purchasing from them ensures you are the first and sole owner. Building a personal connection with their estate grants you special consideration. They are deeply thankful for your support, making your satisfaction with every aspect of their relationship a top priority. They will express their gratitude by providing you with the most attentive service possible, particularly when you visit them in the Napa Valley. https://heitzcellar.com/ Contact The Salon at Heitz Cellar 436 St. Helena HwySt. Helena, CA 94574 707-963-2047 reservations@heitzcellar.com The Estate at Heitz Cellar 500 Taplin RoadSt. Helena, CA 94574 info@heitzcellar.com
