LUZERNE COMMEMORATES SG60 WITH THE SG60 DIAMOND COLLECTION

With a heritage spanning over 75 years, Luzerne stands as Singapore's premier homegrown brand of ceramic tableware. Its products are crafted by more than 800 skilled artisans at Luzerne's wholly owned factory in Dehua, China – the birthplace of Blanc de Chine and officially recognized as The World Porcelain City. Supported by a fully automated production facility, the factory produces up to 28 million pieces of ceramic and stone tableware annually.

Demonstrating its dedication to creating a sustainable, culturally-aware global brand, Luzerne has adopted a revolutionary innovative approach by using bone ash-free products for its entire range, setting it apart from its peers. Committed to quality, craftsmanship, and design excellence, Luzerne is the trusted tableware partner for leading airlines, hotels, and restaurants in over 66 countries worldwide.

In 2025, Luzerne celebrates Singapore's 60 years of independence with the SG60 Diamond Collection – a special series of ceramic plates and cups that are uniquely designed and handcrafted to illustrate Singapore's milestones over the past 60 years, narrating the nation's story through porcelain artistry.

The collection features the SG60 Diamond Plate (60 pieces of 50cm commemorative plates to be donated to charity), the SG60 Singapura Plate (30cm plates), the SG60 Singapura 6-Plate Set (a set of six 16cm plates), and the SG60 Kopi Set (a boxed set of six espresso cups and saucers). The SG60 Singapura Plate and Kopi Set include six designs, each representing a significant milestone of Singapore for each decade.

The limited-edition SG60 Diamond Plate combines all six designs into a striking collage, offering a proud display of Singapore's achievements at a glance. The SG60 Diamond Collection by Luzerne is proudly conceptualized and painted by Associate Professor Ng Woon Lam, a Singaporean artist and internationally acclaimed watercolourist, who is also a Dolphin Fellowship recipient from the American Watercolour Society. Professor Ng's artistic philosophy is rooted in Taiji, constantly seeking balance and harmony to capture life's dynamic nature. His painting style is influenced by Chinese calligraphy strokes. Having witnessed Singapore's growth, Professor Ng's depiction of the nation's milestones is both captivating and endearing, accurately reflecting the spirit of its people.

SG60 Diamond Plate for Charity: Raising Funds and Awareness for Mental Health

Luzerne plans to donate all 60 of the 50cm commemorative plates to charity, aiming to raise SGD 600,000 for causes focused on mental health. “This initiative is deeply personal to me. As co-founder of the PleaseStay. Movement, speaking up on youth mental health and suicide prevention has never been a choice – it is a responsibility I carry. My hope is that through awareness, compassion and open dialogue, we can break the stigma and better support those who are silently struggling to seek help with no prejudice,” says Elaine Lek, Chief Executive Officer of Luzerne.

“The resilience of a nation stems from the fortitude of its people. As Singapore continues to progress, rapid change is inevitable. With Luzerne’s humble contribution to SG60, I hope to show support for those navigating societal pressures or identity challenges amid these shifts.."

Luzerne’s own 75-year journey has not been without its trials. It was the mental strength and determination of our predecessors – who held the fort even in the darkest times – that brought us to where we are today: a global brand rooted in heritage and heart. I wish the same for all Singaporeans – that they may always find the support they need, and the strength to persevere with hope.”

To date, over 20 social service agencies have shown interest in receiving the SG60 Diamond Plates for their fundraising efforts, which Luzerne will distribute among these charities. Additionally, Luzerne will initiate a fundraising campaign for 10 of the plates in collaboration with Community Chest Singapore (ComChest), with all proceeds going to the President’s Challenge, The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF), Samaritans of Singapore, and Limitless Singapore.

Fundraising for the plates under ComChest will be conducted online at www.luzerne.com/sg60, with minimum donations starting at SGD 2,688 per plate. At the end of the fundraising period, the top 10 donors will each receive a serialized plate, encased in a premium gift box with a custom-made plate stand. Luzerne aims to raise SGD 600,000 from all 60 plates from this charitable social benefit campaign.
