In 2008, Singapore made history for hosting the world’s first Formula 1® night race and has since continued to attract fans from across the globe as a ‘jewel in the Formula 1® crown’. This year, the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX will host its eleventh edition at the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 20 to 22 September.
Since the inaugural event, over 200,000 spectators have attended each year – and it’s no surprise with the chance to see the world’s finest drivers go wheel-to-wheel under lights at speeds of up to 320km/h, threading the barriers around Singapore’s picturesque Marina Bay.
Adding to the electrifying atmosphere in 2019 are some of the hottest acts from the international music scene – Muse, Fatboy Slim, Toots and the Maytals, and Larkin Poe, and many more to be announced soon.
For the fans, it’s an incredible made-for-Instagram sight – with the track set against the backdrop of Singapore’s iconic heritage buildings, modern architecture and a stunning skyline. It’s all so accessible, with plenty of dining options, entertainment, hotels, subway stations and shopping malls just a stone’s throw away.
As a street circuit hosting the world’s only full night race in the Formula One calendar, the logistical setup is massive. A crew of over 4,000 works round the clock to set-up the temporary facilities which includes concrete barriers, grandstands and hospitality facilities, entertainment stages and lighting projectors throughout the 799,000sqm Circuit Park in five months.
