Sui Basecamp 2026 took place on October 7–8, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, co-located with TOKEN2049, focusing heavily on the agentic economy, autonomous AI payments, and high-throughput infrastructure.

Major Highlights & Announcements

  • World Record TPS Breakthrough: During a live demonstration on Day 1 verified independently by CertiK, the Sui network shattered its previous records by hitting 40,614,180 transactions per second (TPS). This performance utilized Sui's off-chain tunnel technology.

  • Samsung Wallet & USDC Integration: Announced a partnership bringing USDC integration directly to Samsung Wallet on Sui.

  • Hashi & CCTP V2 Rollouts: Detailed the phased mainnet launch of Hashi (backed by over $500 million in funding) and the arrival of CCTP V2 on Sui.

  • SUI Token Buybacks: Mysten Labs co-founder Adeniyi Abiodun outlined plans to use future stablecoin revenue to fund ongoing SUI token repurchases and subsidize free stablecoin transfers.

  • The "Hoody Death Match" & Builder Labs: Featured live trading competitions, AI poker, interactive booths (such as Walrus and ONE Championship), and hands-on AI Builder Lab workshops

The Key Speakers for Sui BaseCamp include the following:

  • Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Mysten Labs

Highlights

Mysten Labs and Google Cloud introduce Verifiable Agent Arbiter

Mysten Labs and Google Cloud unveiled the Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), a co-developed evidence layer designed to help enterprises demonstrate that their AI agents operated within the permissions they were given. Cryptographic records of agent activity will be stored on Walrus, a data platform built for AI workloads, and coordinated through Sui, its Layer 1 blockchain.

As AI agents begin executing transactions, negotiating with other agents, and operating across organisational boundaries, VAA provides an independently verifiable record of their actions. The system is also positioned to support compliance with emerging regulation, including the EU AI Act, which will introduce penalties of up to €15 million or 3% of global annual turnover for logging failures from 2027.

Sui sets a new live record of over 40 million transactions per second. During a live high-stress demonstration at Sui Basecamp in Singapore, Sui tunnels processed 40,614,180 transactions per second—exceeding the 20 million TPS target and surpassing the previous 6 million TPS record set on July 4. The experiment, led by Adeniyi Abiodun, demonstrated the network’s capacity to support AI agents and machine-driven commerce.

At this scale, conventional on-chain gas fees could make agent commerce prohibitively expensive. Sui tunnels require only two transactions—one to open and one to close—bringing intermediate costs close to zero while enabling privacy and offline functionality. More than 10,000 tunnels were opened on Sui mainnet within seconds of one another during the test.

Samsung partners with Sui to bring USDC to Samsung Wallet

Samsung Wallet has selected Sui as its blockchain infrastructure partner to support USDC, bringing stablecoin functionality to 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. Users will be able to hold and send USDC directly through Samsung Wallet, integrated into the mobile experience they already use daily.

The rollout will leverage Sui’s gasless stablecoin transfer feature, allowing users to acquire and transfer USDC with zero network fees. The announcement arrives as stablecoin transfer volumes exceeded $83 trillion over the past 12 months, with remittances and cross-border payments continuing to drive adoption.

Evan Cheng on what comes next...

In his “What’s Next?” keynote, Evan Cheng outlined Sui’s vision for the agentic era: a future in which AI agents can be trusted to act on behalf of people, within rules set by their users.

Adeniyi Abiodun, Mysten Labs

On AI agents becoming the primary interface for everyday life:

“Agents will make the websites and apps we use today obsolete, becoming the new interface through which people interact with the world. We’re already seeing them become capable of paying bills, booking travel, household help, and everything in between. The wealthy have long been the only ones with consistent access to this level of assistance, but AI agents will unlock it for everyone, giving people more time back for their families and the things that actually matter.”

On Sui’s readiness for the agentic economy:

“As we transition rapidly into the agentic era, the networks that power it need to be built for a very different kind of traffic than what was needed up until this point. Sui is designed for that world. It’s the fastest, most scalable, free, and built to handle the unprecedented volume of interactions that agents will generate. Our goal has long been to make money movement free and as easy as sending an email, and Sui is the only network enabling this for a future where billions of agents are communicating and transacting on behalf of people.”

Kimberly Logan, Walrus Foundation

On how on-chain memory can strengthen trust in AI:

“Before AI agents can truly reach the mainstream, people need confidence that agents will consistently follow their instructions, especially as they begin handling money and making financial decisions on our behalf. Blockchain memory solutions can help by making data verifiable, immutable and portable, creating a transparent foundational data layer that enhances trust in the agentic systems built on top of it.”

On the Verifiable Agent Arbiter:

“Verifiable Agent Arbiter enables companies and individuals to prove their agents acted within the bounds of their authority, and they can prove it anywhere to anyone in a fully trustless way. This is going to support agentic workflows across trust boundaries and industries, unlocking the types of experiences that we previously could only talk about in the abstract. And this is one of the biggest companies in the world acknowledging that a credibly neutral layer is the only place where this can happen.”

Evan Cheng, Mysten Labs

On verifiable protocols as the foundation for agent trust:

“You cannot just have policies or blacklists for agents because the trust infrastructure we built for humans simply does not scale. This is how verifiable onchain protocols will change the world. Users won’t have to trust every individual agent, only the rules keeping them in line.”
