She Loves Tech Global Conference

Updated: Nov 2, 2023

She Loves Tech celebrates its 9th year with the She Loves Tech Global Conference happening on 26th & 27th October, 2023, at the Fairmont Hotel Singapore, Stamford Ballroom under the theme of ‘Metamorphosis’.

The theme METAMORPHOSIS addresses the current ‘tech winter’, a period of prolonged, significant downturn in technology investments and business activities, and will debate the rising tension between rapid advancements in technology, such as AI and data collection, and the impact on life, society and the natural world.

"As we celebrate the remarkable milestone of 9 years of She Loves Tech, this year's theme of Metamorphosis perfectly captures our ambition for another transformative decade. We are thrilled to unveil the highly anticipated She Loves Tech Digital Platform during the global conference — a critical leap and exciting new avenue to realise our mission of closing the funding gap for women in technology." - say co-founders Leanne Robers, Rhea See, and Virginia Tan.

The conference is the culmination of a worldwide start-up competition celebrated over a two-day schedule of talks, workshops and the announcement of the winner on Friday 27 October.

She Loves Tech 2023 Conference brings together a stellar line-up to include:

Acclaimed author Nir Eyal will headline this year’s event. The Wall Street Journal best selling author of Hooked shares insights from his latest book, Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life, gleaned from his five years of research into how to master what he calls, ‘the skill of the century’. Nir's entertaining, research-backed talk will provide practical advice and memorable strategies for better managing our attention, our time and our lives.

Esteemed Singaporean VC Jenny Lee also joins the conference in a fireside chat on Investing in Winners. Jenny Lee is a trailblazer in Asia’s venture capital industry, she was the first woman to crack the Midas List top ten (2015), has remained on Forbes Global 100 VC Midas List since 2012 and is managing partner of GGV.

Former Singaporean politician and entrepreneur Penny Low will lead a discussion on how digital transformation is a key driver for economic growth, the role of social entrepreneurship in building an equitable world and questions the utopia we are currently building.

Jeanne Lim (CEO/Co-Founder of BeingAI; Co-Creator of Sophia the Robot and Zbee) will debate with Dr. Miriam Meckel (CEO/Co-Founder of ada Learning and professor at University of St. Gallen, Switzerland) on the meteoric rise of AI and if it will make humans obsolete. They are joined by Prantik Mazumdar and Dr. Fermin Diez.

Benjamina Bollag (CEO/Co-Founder of Uncommon Bio, a company aiming to revolutionise the food system with cultured proteins using Nobel Prize-winning science and an RNA-based approach) will be speaking on Women Leading The Climate Revolution. Her company raised money from Sam Altman, the CEO of ChatGPT-maker OpenAI.

The conference concludes with the announcement of the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition 2023 Winners. As the world’s largest startup competition for women and technology, the competition hosts 29 regional rounds across 70+ countries, before culminating in the grand finals in Singapore. AI emerged as the top theme from our startups this year. Among thousands of entries across technology sectors, we are seeing a fascinating evolution and expansion of how AI is being used to solve problems.
