Fashion Entrepreneur Vanessa Peh Crowned as New Miss World Singapore 2018 Champions Beauty with A Purpose Mission


Singapore, 15 September 2018 – Fashion entrepreneur and actress Vanessa Peh Ting Ting (age 24) was crowned last night at the Resorts World Theatre as the new Miss World Singapore 2018. As the winner, Vanessa received $10,000 cash and over $20,000 worth of products from sponsors. She will also be representing Singapore at the prestigious Miss World 2018 Grand Final in Sanya, China on 8 December 2018. The Miss World Singapore 2018 Grand Coronation Night was graced by special VIP guest His Royal Highness Prince Sisowath Tesso, Advisor to the Secretary of His Majesty – The King Norodom Sihamoni, with His Excellency Dr Julio A. Jeldres. The pride of Philippines, Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann also attended the event as a special guest.

The panel of judges included Adelyne Velvet (Managing Director of Celebrity Group Pte Ltd), Sir Dr Jeffrey Lin (CEO & Co-Founder of GCOX), Datin Sharel Ho (Managing Director of DeFred Jewellers), Dr Dylan Chau (Director & Resident Doctor of Celevenus Wellness & Aesthetic Clinic), Francis Cheong (Couturier), Sean Tay (Team Head of Bank of Singapore) and Jamila Wang (Oriental Dance Artiste).


Vanessa Peh said, “It is my absolute honor and privilege to be crowned as Miss World Singapore 2018. This organisation has so many attributes that I truly admire, such as being comfortable in your own skin, having the courage to pursue your own dreams and most importantly, having Beauty with a Purpose. I believe there is beauty in our struggles and overcoming challenges. I would like to use my voice to empower and inspire others to become the best version of themselves. A Miss World Singapore should have empathy, compassion and a willing heart to give back to society and it will be my honor to continue this legacy by raising awareness on my causes like mental illness which is severe and prevalent. I would also like to support Sian Chay Medical Institution to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to the general population. It will be once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be able to represent Singapore on an international platform and I am determined on bringing pride to our nation.”


The other nine outstanding young ladies who made it to the final round of Singapore’s most prestigious national pageant were Preeti Mandalia (19 years old), Kaavya Ganeshan (19 years old), Rika Vanisha (21 years old), Vanessa Tiara (21 years old), Phaan Yi Lin (23 years old), Claudia Naomi (23 years old), Shonalie Raha (24 years old), Kaitlyn Xu (25 years old) and Audrey Chen (27 years old).


The Miss World Singapore 2018’s First Runner-Up title goes to Shonalie Raha (24 years old) and Second Runner-Up is Vanessa Tiara (21 years old). The 10 finalists were evaluated in four segments: national costume, ready to wear attire, evening gown and questions and answer.


Presented by Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX) and organised by Celebrity Group, Miss World Singapore is more than just a mainstream beauty pageant. It is a beauty festival focusing on empowerment of young women and its Beauty With A Purpose mission, inculcating good social value in the world today. On 2nd September 2018, the Inaugural Beauty With A Purpose Charity Gala successfully raised $4 million for Sian Chay Medical Institution. These donations were directed to the To’ Puan Dr. Tsao Sui Lan Memorial Endowment Fund which provides free Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation and medication to the underprivileged families in Singapore.


Scheduled on 8th December 2018, the annual Miss World Grand Final will be aired live to approximately 180 countries yearly, attracting more than 1 billion viewers and consistently ranks among the most watched live annual entertainment telecasts in the whole world.
