Hotel de la Coupole - M Gallery : Sapa

Updated: Jul 25, 2023

Each boutique hotel in the MGallery collection tells a unique story, inviting guests to emplace themselves in a journey of adventure, romance, history, culture, nature and more towards the culmination of a memorable stay. Hotel de la Coupole is one of such dominant hotels in the MGallery collection and plays on the thematic infusion on “more is more” with homage paid to the icons that traditional Indochine clothing left on Parisian haute couture at its early beginnings.

- A Gorgeous Luxe Hotel, designed by Bill Bensley - immensely opulent with bite-sized French couture that is juxtaposted with Vietnamese Tribal Texture and a past-era inspiration -

The Hotel occupies a strategic spot to enjoy the stunning misty views of Sapa town and the beautiful surrounding mountains from the rooms' and suite’s spacious balconies. The moment one enters the environs of the hotel lobby, one will feel transported to the land of the ancients, in Parisien chic and Indochina-mix, where a feeling of nostalgia, glamour and magical mystique (similar to the mysterious fog that shrouds at different times of the year) begins as one unravels the various dimensions that this sophisticated Hotel calls home in Sapa.

We recommend the Deluxe Suites where the spaciousness of each suite is blended with an Oriental orange colour in tribute to Sapa influences and is combined with lavish ruby red upholstery, classic art-deco touches (this is so comfy) and playful design features inspired by Sapa’s hill tribes. In homage to the hotel’s French haute-couture heritage, all suites are named after a special type of fabric used by France’s vintage fashion houses.

The Suites have bathrooms that are well designed and spectacular, featuring oversized free-standing tubs, separate rainfall shower, high-end amenities and they also feature a luxurious king-sized bed, a separate sitting room with direct access to the balcony. To ensure maximum privacy and comfort, these soundproofed rooms feature in-room mini bars, complimentary fresh fruit, mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities, a 43″ LCD TV and free high-speed internet.

At Chic, the modern dining restaurant, they serve a gastronomic menu of classic French dishes crafted from the finest local ingredients. Chic is funky cool, expressive with bold colours yet intimate and heralds the the perfect ambience for a date, business, group or family dinner. The Normandy escargots were so delicious along with the fresh spring rolls (certainly, the BEST I have eaten in my many years in Vietnam) along with the local delicacy of "Pho Bac Ha" which is the Sapa versioned-Pho with fresh rice noodle, Muong Khuong chilli sauce and Vietnamese beef.

For dinner alfresco, Chic has a large outdoor balcony with majestic views over the mountains and valleys of Sapa. There are regular live cooking stations by the hotel’s talented team of chefs, offering guests a real sense of theatre, and a Bánh chưng class was organized to showcase this traditional dish in anticipation for Tet, with the newly-enrolled students (read: guests), enjoying the intricacies of this dish preparation.

The resident Nuages Spa is located on the 7th floor and offers guests a range of deluxe treatments and spa services that blend the finest products and techniques with Traditional Red Dao wisdom and a specialized foot-bath ritual. The spa is decorated in creams and black annexe designs coupled with the refined glamour of 1920s French haute couture to create a peaceful and tranquil environment.

Guests can choose from a selection of personalised massages, body scrubs, body wraps and facial treatments, all of which soothe and restore both body and soul. The Nuages Spa personalised massage was especially notable, and comprised of excellent bodywork, after a tiring day trekking the many trails, villages and waterfalls in the vast expanse of the Sapa and Lao Cai region.

Sapa consists of many lovely tourist gems and attractions, including the Sapa Stone Church, the local Sapa Market where one can witness the local tribal wares, textiles and weaving arts, mountain treks and visits to the Flower Hmong and Tay tribes (amongst the many tribes living here in different mountains, valleys and villages), at their Ta Van and Lao Chai villages respectively, sitting in the Muong Hoa Valley with the surrounding Hoang Lien Son and Ham Rong mountain ranges, Cat-Cat Village, majestic Silver and Love Waterfalls and intimate cosy mountain-side cafes.

One of the most comfortable luxe deco-art modern neo-classical hotels and definitely the best one in #Sapa - a superb guest experience taken to greater heights by Joseph and his hospitality team at @hoteldelacoupole#hoteldelacoupole and hosted for @rosettemedia#rosettemedia by @accor - Highly Recommended!
