BYD Singapore has unveiled the new BYD SEALION 8 DM-i, a seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUV tailored for modern families, featuring a spacious interior, advanced technologies, comprehensive safety features, and an efficient hybrid powertrain. As the flagship family SUV from BYD, the BYD SEALION 8 DM-i blends the practicality of three-row seating with the benefits of BYD's DM-i technology, providing a versatile mobility solution for daily commutes, family trips, and extended road journeys.

Accommodating up to seven passengers, the BYD SEALION 8 DM-i is crafted to meet the needs of growing families. Its generous 2,950mm wheelbase and adaptable three-row cabin provide ample space for passengers, ensuring comfort in every seat.

For added flexibility, the interior can be reconfigured to fit both passengers and cargo, making it ideal for school runs, weekend activities, and vacations. Luggage capacity ranges from 270 litres to 1,960 litres with the rear seats folded.

The BYD SEALION 8 DM-i offers numerous comfort features to enhance the driving and passenger experience. These include a panoramic glass sunroof, three-zone automatic air-conditioning, ventilated and heated front seats, and ceiling-mounted air vents for second- and third-row passengers. The thoughtfully designed cabin also includes adjustable second-row seating with boss-button functionality, ensuring a comfortable journey for all occupants.

ADVANCED HYBRID TECHNOLOGY 

The BYD SEALION 8 DM-i is powered by BYD's proven DM-i system, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and BYD's Blade Battery technology. The system delivers up to 205kW of power and 315Nm of torque, providing responsive performance while maintaining high efficiency.

CONFIDENCE THROUGH SAFETY 

The BYD SEALION 8 DM-i is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety systems and driver assistance technologies to support drivers and protect occupants. Key safety features include a 360-degree camera system, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Fatigue Monitoring, Driver Distraction Monitoring, Door Opening Warning, and a full complement of airbags, including front, side, curtain, and far-side airbags. The vehicle also includes advanced driver assistance technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking functionality.

SMART AND CONNECTED 

Central to the cabin is a 15.6-inch intelligent touchscreen complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, intelligent voice control, and over-the-air software updates, ensuring families stay connected wherever their journeys take them.
