A lush vertical oasis right in the heart of the Singapore shopping belt of Orchard Road, is the Artyzen Singapore, an absolute marvel encapsulated as a modern 142-room lifestyle hotel and adorned with captivating decor, beautiful landscape set within a charming elite interior. The hotel and room vibes embody the essence of traditional Singaporean local heritage and aesthetics, creating a fine balance between the traditional and contemporary.
Introduction
Artyzen Singapore is a strikingly tall hotel that honours its botanical heritage with greenery adorning its trellised columns and sky gardens and this gorgeous hotel features elongated ceilings, ever-flowing archways and corridors, complemented by pocket gardens, courtyards and pristine lush vegetation. Inspired by the design, colours, flavours, and people of Singapore, Artyzen Singapore's framework is designed by the ONG&ONG (my good pal David Ching was telling me all about it), in collaboration with interior design studio Nic Graham & Associates, reflecting the spirit of the former tropical garden villa, it once resides upon.

Accommodation Excellence - Rooms
What strikes me about the Artyzen is the wonderful juxtaposition of colours, design, architectural finesse, lofty interiors, plush sofas, modernity, good use of materials and quality furnishings that blend seamlessly in the Premier Balcony King Room that we resided in. The emergence of polished concrete, herringbone timber, stone, and brass, harmonised with a neat balcony, that overlooks the Cuscaden and Orchard Road landscapes, providing for a stunning view, calm yet serene!
The rooms are delightfully decorated, expressing a mood of materiality that is inspired and sourced from elite source origins along with distinctive heritage featuring a culmination of Chinese, Asian and European elements, as a backdrop and strong use of expressive colours and creatives. In maintaining with the multilayered and multisensory approach, Artyzen also offers a surreal architectural design, art, culture and dining in the various spaces on different levels of this premium lodging along Cuscaden Road
At a decent size of 48 sq meters, their Premier Room comes equipped with a 55-inch flat screen LED TV, Nespresso coffee maker, In-room refreshment corner, B&O wireless Bluetooth speaker (just love this), 24-hour in-room dining (thats what I call service), Premium bathroom amenities (for that relaxing shower), Dyson hairdryer, Complimentary Nordaq premium water (superb!) and also the good choice of a Braun alarm!
Wellness & Workout Spaces
An expansive facilities exist on Level 5, thats allows one to maintain your wellness routine. Surrounded by a lush green landscape and a soaring 15-metre-high ceiling are the gym, private treatment rooms, meditation zone, and pavilions for yoga and exercise. We love the amenities and gym equipment on this floor, and it is certainly not a mini facility but a proper workout expanse to work out your fitness regime in all categories. The wellness space was amazing for one to indulge in spa and wellness activities and the design is simple aesthetic, captivating and bursting with nuances of greenery and lushness.
Meeting/Event Spaces Artyzen boasts 3 meeting and event spaces on the same level as Quenino by Victor Liong, and these meeting facilities are superb for corporate meet-ups, seat between 18 to 60 pax with breakfast/luncheons, and come equipped with meeting-ecosystem, food and bar amenities.
Quenino by Victor Liong
Quenino is derived from the term ‘little one’ in Malaccan Creole Portuguese and I attempted to seek the meaning on the internet, but realized this proper noun is a reflection of the heritage and authenticity of the region’s culinary tradition, with the base at Artyzen. Quenino by Victor Liong is helmed by acclaimed chef Victor Liong from Melbourne together with Singaporean chef de cuisine, Sujatha Asokan, who was instrumental in preparing our dishes one lovely weekend evening. This degustation menu-only restaurant is a celebration of Asia’s culinary diversity, playfully serving up elements from across Asia while paying homage to their roots and I must say, their service staff, aptly called Service Hosts, were very well-trained and hospitality is truly at the core of their service ethos; one of my best experiences!
We had a choice of the 7-course or 9-course menu and since we were full from lunch, we chose the 7 course Focus Menu; it's truly Asian inspired with a touch of Modern influence and comprised of a curated blend of Contemporary Asian Cuisine. The starter comprised of a set of Quenino Prelude as rightly termed, with a Chef's choice of three seasonal amuse-bouche : refreshing and certainly a meal starter for us. The Scallop dish was blended well in a neutral format with the lovely ginger flower and tamarind, lending an equitable presence to the kesum and enveloping the tomato texture to the scallop originating from Hokkaido.. just exquisite!

House-made Flatbread : The Wagyu full-blood, of course, is well mélange with the green chilli as it packs an acidic punch to deliver a umami-centric composure to this dish; whilst we were just resting on the laurels of the warm fluffy flatbread, we literally craving for more.. what an excellent concoction! When they bought in the Yellowtail Kingfish, the crispiness of the flakes, combined with the lemak was truly well tossed with lemongrass that sits on a bed of passion fruit, which is pretty fascinating, as the flavors get submerged straight into the crispy-fried skin of the yellowtail whilst basking in the full glory of this pan-seared dish, somewhat very fresh, with sufficient bite and excelling in the taste department with the juices flowing through the drizzled sauce.
The “Fried Rice” is a unique dish that was presented at this restaurant - the multiple garnishes accompanying this “mui-fan dish bring a different perspective as one is introduced to each garnish, ranging from chive radish, tamarind chilli, fried betel leaf, cincalok marinated onions, battanga, ulam rajah, fried shallots, coriander and fried pork lard; the trick is not to mix this whole playful dish together, but to actually sample each condiment one at a time with the rice, to appreciate each diverse flavour and in the process, appreciate the condiment and how it mélange with the rice. Truly innovative and super experiential! The course ended with a refreshing Taro Ice Cream, to clean the palate; consisting of fermented rice wine, roselle and sweet potato, yummy!

Cafe Quenino
We had a Singapore Traditional Teh C with our breakfast, and it was fascinating as they bothered to explain the concept and different variations of the Singapore Coffee and Tea beverage on their menu, to discerning visitors; the breakfast came with a curated set of Granola and Fruits, adding spice to my morning regime. Aside from the buffet spread of fruits, bread (local kaya and butter), pretty delightful, we were given a choice to have a curated Main Plate, so we chose the Chilli Crab Omelette, which was a wonderful concoction of blue swimmer crab, coconut basmati rice and their house-made sweet and spicy chilli sauce. The Avocado and Tomato Toast was on-point, with a good spread of smashed avocado, heirloom tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, black vinegar dressing on a warm sourdough. The juices and fruits were fresh and tasty!
Staff Accolades
We would like to give our sincere appreciation to Jeff Crowe, General Manager, Francine from the Marcoms team, Lysander from Front Office, Thas from concierge, both Julie n Gizher - Quenino along with Chef Sujatha, and also Carris and Thong from Cafe Quenino, for an absolutely marvelous stay, topped with excellent service and care!
Sustainability
A huge buzzword for modern hotels in the last decade, we were attracted to the hotel's ethos on practices that support ESG initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle. In an active basis, the rainwater is harvested for irrigation purposes; there is passive cooling design throughout, thus reducing the need for the amount of air-conditioned spaces. They deploy NORDAQ glass bottled water so as to reduce plastic waste; there are Heeley bathroom amenities which come in aluminium bottles.
Sustainable dry amenities, include the use of toothbrushes, disposable shavers, and combs, made from bamboo (we find this enlightening and fulfilling); there are Balconies and generous ceiling fans in every room to reduce greenhouse gases, but also providing for good ventilation (which I appreciate); there are solar-powered LED lamps dispersed throughout the hotel and rooms and bed linens are changed every third day. There is an on-going Partnership with Proof & Company to serve ecoSPIRITS (the world’s first low-carbon, low-waste spirits and wine distribution technology), a distinctive ESG initiative for the Horeca domain.
