Joining the previously announced 88rising line-up, Post Malone, and Robbie Williams, this year’s full programme also features Kings of Leon, Culture Club, Groove Armada, Madness, as well as an exciting mix of local and international acts from all over the world. More artistes have also been added to the 88rising line-up. From 15 to 17 September, fans can look forward to over 80 hours of entertainment throughout the Circuit Park, including 139 artistes across 13 performance and DJ stages, as well as an array of activities to complement the race action. This year also features the most acts ever at the Zone 4 Padang Stage. 88rising’s previously announced acts Jackson Wang, NIKI, Rich Brian and Warren Hue will be boosted by the addition of four additional artistes, completing the Asian-American record label’s stellar line-up on Friday, 15 September at the Zone 4 Padang Stage. Based in South Korea, Japanese multilingual girl group XG first took TikTok by storm in 2022 with their incredible multilingual rap cypher, Galz Xypher. The septet has since become the first Japanese female group to earn a spot on the US Top 40 charts for their hit Shooting Star. Singer-songwriter and rapper BIBI has been featured in numerous collaborations since her official debut in 2019. Her first single with 88rising, The Weekend, reached #29 on US radio charts, becoming the best performing single by a Korean female artiste. Rapper-singer MILLI made waves in the Thai hip-hop scene with her debut single Phak Kon in 2020, amassing four million views on YouTube in just four days. In 2022, the 20-year-old was the first Thai solo artiste to perform at Coachella, setting sales of mango sticky rice skyrocketing when she performed a song named after the dessert. Known for their outlandish, progressive, and genre-blending sounds, Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko! will impress fans with their eccentric self-choreographed gymnastic dance moves to their hit songs OTONABLUE, WOO! GO!, and NAINAINAI. Multi-platinum selling and three times GRAMMY award and BRIT award winning band Kings of Leon will perform their first ever Asian shows outside of Japan, as one of the headliners at the Zone 4 Padang Stage on Saturday, 16 September and the Zone 1 Wharf Stage on Sunday, 17 September. Recognised as one of the world's biggest alternative rock bands over the last 20 years, the band have headlined the world's biggest and most prestigious festivals and venues including Coachella, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza's in Berlin, Sao Paulo and Chicago. British pop phenomenon Culture Club is set to belt out fan-favourites like Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and Karma Chameleon at the Zone 1 Wharf Stage on Saturday, 16 September. The band’s globally iconic and flamboyant lead singer Boy George is also scheduled to perform an exclusive DJ set at hospitality facility Twenty3 on Sunday, 17 September. One of the biggest and most loved British bands, Madness will be uniting people for a right raucous live bash at the Zone 1 Wharf Stage on Sunday, 17 September. Known for their infectiously catchy songs, 15 of the pop giant’s hits have reached the UK top 10, including Our House, One Step Beyond, and House of Fun. Legendary British electronic music duo Groove Armada will be revving up the crowd at the Zone 4 Padang Stage before the Formula 1 race on Sunday, 17 September. One of the biggest crossover house music acts of the 1990s, the three-time GRAMMY-nominated DJs’ most popular hits include At the River, I See You Baby, and Superstylin’. More entertainment on track and off Adding to the fiesta in the Circuit Park are an exciting line-up of artistes from all over the world set to keep fans’ adrenaline pumping throughout the race weekend. The international acts include indie band The Kooks (UK), synth-pop duo JOAN (USA), indie pop band San Cisco (Australia), neo-soul musician Meg Mac (Australia), electronica pop band Safia (Australia), new Calypso musician Kalpee (Trinidad & Tobago), indie-pop band Sunwich (Indonesia), singer-songwriter Jinan Laetitia (Indonesia), hip-hop and R&B artiste Airliftz (Malaysia), as well as post-rock band aswekeepsearching (India). The local line-up features R&B and soul band Astronauts, pop singer-songwriter Matilde G, singer-songwriter Sam Dreebsby, dance troupe Royalusion and indie rock band Hijack Hayley. An entire array of playful yet delightful gastronomic Italian classics were showcased upon us with elements of Dario’s rebellious spin in an awesome culinary format. Butcher Dario Cecchini commands presence over this beautiful flagship dining experience, Bottega di Carna, a truly modern and eclectic Italian eatery that exudes vibes and touches of Tuscany when we were dining in-place; we were met by Executive Chef Alastair Clayton who did wonders to the food we tasted along with Chef de Cuisine Kenny Huang and the combination of their culinary finesse along with their teams, including F&B Director, Justin, added service, finesse and style to the entire experience; prime cuts of the meats were clearly showcased and driven to immense perfection! Allegrini "stylo milo"! We sampled the SEABASS CRUDO consisting of grilled zucchini, lemon & marioram oil - so wonderful as I have not tasted anything like this before; the DARIO'S SIGNATURE STEAK TARTARE was amazing with a neat selection of smoked paprika, olive oil and lemon and the CARPACCIO DI CULO with seiso verde was just amazing! The lovely Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne was a trustworthy companion that brought out finesse when paired with this bevy of starters combination. For the main course, we chose the BRANZINO FILET comprising grilled artichoke & salsa verde, exquisitely done and also the STOCKYARD RIBEYE 280Gm .. Australian Black Angus.. immaculate! We were given a choice of special steak knives, superbly designed for the classique Bottega di Carna steak experience, and we knew it would exact our expectations! We couldn’t leave without dessert so we were given a taste of the VALRHONA CHOCOLATE FONDANT - a selezzione of cocoa nib tuile and homemade vanilla ice cream and also the TIRAMISU which is served at the table for two pax, love it! Located on the 10th floor, the Absinthe Bar opens daily from 11am – 11pm; it is a rooftop bar and lounge featuring the finest combination of wine, cocktails, and tapas in a grand and glitzy yet subdued setting at the rooftop overlooking the Sapa valley. Absinthe has a lavish domed ceiling and takes inspiration from the glamour and sophistication from the heyday of Paris in 1920s – Les Annees Folles. With an external fireplace for guests to enjoy the night sky and mountain range, Absinthe is the place where effortless luxury and unspoiled natural surrounding meet to create a sense of place like no other. I taste a decent cocktail, a nice French wine and some awesome bar bites, that again is a testament to their brilliant F&B team, to come up with savvy names that match the luxe of the Bill Bensley property, along with a delightful french colonial period nomenclature. The "Chanel your Inner Coco" aptly describes the combination of Grey Goose l'Orange, Lillet Blanc Rose whilst being melangé with a mix of Sparking wine, red wine and Pearls, providing for a beverage finesse. Refreshing, bubbly with pearly drops fill the taste buds as we consume this tasty beverage. The "Katsu Sando", inspired by the Japanese-French painter and printmaker, Tsuguharu Foujita, traditionally features pork, but Absinthe realises this delightful fish using a composition of a lovely strip of Wagyu beef A5++ striploin, milk toast, katsu sauce and panko bread- the result is astounding and our media rating gives top marks for this brilliant innovation. The "Gambas Al Ajillo"- driven by the memory of Salvador Dali, uncovers a spread of prawns, paprika, white wine, butter and garlic - the outcome is marvelous, delivering an amazing tasty feel, with umami and sour blend, given the prawns an "oomph" taste - our media rating rates this 10/10 - kudos to the chef! Facilities Le Grand Bassin is a gorgeous indoor swimming pool and it is placed on the 7th floor, and it is open daily from 6am – 9pm. Le Grand Bassin features emerald green marble columns, bronze statues and pink chandeliers over the vast swimming pool and it provides the ultimate indulgent swimming experience in chilly Sapa during the winter month, such a nice warm dip. The luxury indoor pool is flanked on each side by floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views, and assumes a dominant feature within the hotel environs, one of our favourite Indoor Pools in Asia. Here, we sampled exquisite European cuisine made with the freshest seasonal ingredients and also sipped a couple of cooling cocktails overlooking the glittering city skyline. We sampled several key dishes that gave us a wonderful impression of the cuisine standard, along with top service from their captain, Clint Bui. First off was the Frog Legs, that was nicely prepared with garlic butter, laksa leaf tempura, garlic purée, asparagus risotto, sun-dried tomatoes and parsley purée. Then we tried the Bouillabaisse which was done to superb perfection in showcasing the flavour-terroirs of this amazing French delicacy, and reminds me of my time in Marseille. A combination of Hokkaido scallops, Tiger prawns, clams, garlic snails and squid was slowly cooked with fennel, rouille sauce and toasted bread. Incroyable! For the Main courses, we tried both the 400 DAYS GRAIN-FED F1 WAGYU STRIPLOIN MS6 (AUS) 250GR portion as well as the KAGOSHIMA WAGYU A5 OYSTER BLADE (JP) 200GR portion; both were superbly refined and grilled to perfection with the right touch in Medium format! It's an absolute delight to taste a superb steak Wagyu-driven in Saigon, Vietnam. For dessert, we had the Banoffee Tiramisu, which consisted of a combination of Coffee soaked ladyfinger, mascarpone cheese, banana and coffee espuma in a biscotti, So Tasty! We sampled two lovely cocktails and were enthralled by the style and concoction, which brings testament to their cocktail-bar curation team. The La Nuit De L' Homme was delivered through the auspices using Jim Beam Bourbon, fresh lime, Vietnamese mango puree, pink & black pepper, ocean sea salt & star anise water, pineapple juice and Madagascar vanilla syrup. Positioned as the next preferred trendy hangout café in Singapore, to see and to be seen, the crazy names that come out of the menu is a true testament to how serious they take fun and position at the next level, with the right concoction and display it with a twist with wonderful creative colors but yet retaining the originality of using well-chosen Thai and Asian ingredients, but what truly stands out is their ability to bring out good taste, structure and balance, to the consumer. We tried the THE-MILLIONAIRE Chatter Platter for our first course, which consisted of Thai chicken satay, spring rolls, fish cake, thai crispy duck rice cracker and chicken wings; simply yummy. The Mussel Corn Fritter was unique with the deep fried sweet corn in umamu mussel and that resonated well with our taste buds, with a good crunch! The Green Chicken Curry Prata was special for me, given that it's the first time that I see fluffy roti prata served with Thai chicken green curry; just immaculate! Next, we had the brilliant Crispy Guchal Chive Cake which has its origins from the pan fried chinese chives rice cake combined with sweet soy sauce; yet another twist from the menu planners. We had a super big and tasty squid that came with Thai bbq dressing, and well grilled! super love it! The Filthy-Rich Lobster Linguine, filled with Linguine pasta and a whole lobster tail in rich creamy lobster sauce, was just amazing! One of the most awesome dishes is the BLUE-BLOOD Seafood Stew - we knew we had to order it the moment we saw it and it never disappointed ; filled to the brim with seafood bisque styled stew with entire whole lobster tail, tiger prawns, squid, clams, mussels and seared scallops, it truly delivered, our fave dish at this restaurant! However, the signature dish at Crazy Rich Thai is actually the Signature Beef Kway Teow Soup - a well cooked broth-like complexion that includes a traditional Thai-styled beef kway teow soup with fresh beef slices, beef balls, kang kong and sprouts; just classique! For desserts which is the perfect indulgence especially in Thai-inspired cuisine, we went for the Big Apple Crumble Crepe which simply oozed with a series of crepes dipped with apple crumble and vanilla sauce; just succulent! We also tried the Jackfruit Khao Niao which is basically fresh jackfruit stuffed with sweet thai glutinous rice, truly delicious! For drinks and beverages, we tapped on our senses, to choose what makes sense, given the huge menu offering on the list, and tried the Pandan Milk Tea, Summer Lime with Passion Soda and Boba, Doctor's Irish Coffee and the Dirty Matcha, such uncanny nomenclature, but we simply adored it!
