THE GRANDE WHISKY MUSEUM LAUNCHES SPEED FOR FUN 2023 - A HIGH-OCTANE SUCCESS FOR GRAND PRIX SEASON SINGAPORE
SPEED FOR FUN 2023 offers a dynamic fusion of racing simulations, rare whisky collections, and high-octane entertainment, setting a new standard for Grand Prix Season Singapore’s fringe activities in 2023, along with a whole bevy of Luxury supercars from renowned brands lighting up the night at The Grande Whisky Museum and mesmerising attendees with automotive excellence.
The Grande Whisky Museum has transformed into an epicentre of speed, luxury, and culture as it launched the highly anticipated SPEED FOR FUN 2023. This event, held in conjunction with Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS), is an event supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and has proved to be a thrilling and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
The evening began with an introduction to The Grande Whisky Museum and the SPEED FOR FUN by Ivy Chee, Head of Marketing & Events at The Grande Whisky Museum. Ivy set the stage for the excitement to follow, highlighting the unique blend of racing, luxury, and whisky that awaited the guests. Following this, Mr. Manjit Gill, the Group Managing Director of The Whisky Trust Group, took centrestage, introducing the museum's renowned vault and extending a special invitation for an unforgettable guided tour, which was the main highlight of the event.
Participants were then taken for a tour of the world's largest collection of rare and vintage whiskies, showcasing over 7,000 bottles of fine whiskies and spirits, including some no-longer-in-production gems. Notably, this collection, owned by TThe Grande Whisky Museum, boasts the Guinness World Record title holders of the "Most Valuable Whisky/Whiskey Collection" valued at SGD 128,630,196 and “Most Valuable Bottle of Whisky/Whiskey" valued at SGD 3,621,582. Attendees were taken on a journey through notable distilleries and whisky-producing regions worldwide, guided by experts who shared captivating insights into the art of whisky-making. Such an awesome experience!
The event continued with a delightful cocktail tasting session, where attendees savoured the story behind eight racing-themed inspired cocktails. These cocktails, inspired by the iconic Singapore GP track, featured ingredients like Nutmeg, Coffee, Ginger, Pineapple and Pandan, capturing the lively essence of local cuisine. The selection included Sheares, Connaught,Promenade, SuperCar, Paddock, Padang, Empress and Stamford.
Thrill-seekers had the chance to experience the professional Racing Simulator, offering an electrifying virtual experience that simulated the real-life sensation of driving a racing car. Powered by state-of-the-art SIMFAI Solutions MPRS technology, this simulator offered attendees a truly immersive and electrifying virtual racing experience that transported them to heart of Singapore night race track. As participants took their place in the driver's seat, they found themselves navigating the twists and turns of the iconic Singapore Night Race track, just like their Formula 1heroes.
The simulator's cutting-edge technology flawlessly recreated the sights, sounds, and sensations of a real racing car, providing an authentic and spine-tingling experience. The roar of the engine, the precision of the steering, and the rush of acceleration made every lap feel like a race against time. It was a true test of skill, reflexes, and nerve, and participants pushed themselves to the limit to achieve the fastest lap times. The Racing Simulator at SPEED FOR FUN 2023 was a high-speed journey into the world of motorsport that left participants breathless and hungry for more, making it a highlight of an already unforgettable event.
As the sun began to set, a stunning Supercar Showcase unfolded, featuring a line-up of prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Pagani, Aston Martin, Porsche and RUF. 15 Supercars formed this visual spectacle which embodied true artistry and luxury, showcasing the pinnacle of automotive excellence. Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed Curated Music Mixes, specially tailored to elevate the excitement of the Grand Prix Season Singapore. The dynamic line-up of racing-themed music seamlessly merged the worlds of music and racing, providing a captivating and adrenaline-pumping musical adventure.
