Since 2012, Bugcrowd has been empowering organizations to take back control and stay ahead of threat actors by uniting the collective ingenuity and expertise of their customers and trusted alliance of elite hackers, with their patented data and AI-powered Security Knowledge Platform™. Their network of hackers brings diverse expertise to uncover hidden weaknesses, adapting swiftly to evolving threats, even against zero-day exploits. With unmatched scalability and adaptability, their data and AI-driven CrowdMatch™ technology in their platform finds the perfect talent for your unique fight. They are creating a new era of modern crowdsourced security that outpaces threat actors. The cybersecurity event on 16 April 2024 commenced with an introduction from David Gerry, CEO of Bugcrowd, where he outlined Bugcrowd’s vision for the future and plans for growth and expansion throughout the Asia Pacific region in 2024/5 and beyond. Next in line was a sharing by industry thought leader, Casey Ellis, Founder & CSO, Bugcrowd, on the "Cybersecurity trends in 2024 – AI Safety and the Role of Crowdsourced Security". Casey started his career as a hacker and soon became a cybersecurity entrepreneur pioneering the Crowdsourced Security as a Service model, launching the first bug bounty programs on the Bugcrowd platform. Casey has advised the US Department of Defence, Australian and UK Intelligence Communities, plus US House and Senate legislative initiatives including pre-emptive protection of cyberspace ahead of the 2020 Presidential Elections. AI is changing software from a collection of functional systems concerned with trading data and handling transactions according to a predetermined set of rules, to an evolutionary ecosystem that creates new assets and modifies the rules as it goes. This has huge implications not just for cybersecurity in the conventional sense but for the safety of AI’s interactions with the people it serves. Emerging AI safety legislation in the US and EU is concerned not with whether systems are safe in the conventional sense (i.e. that they work as intended) but whether they could exacerbate or create moral and social harms – whether for example they could confirm biases that favor one section of the population and disadvantage another. In his introductory session, Casey Ellis explored the scope of AI safety and suggest how the principles and practices of crowdsourced security could hold vital clues. We also had the opportunity to gain insights, and participate in briefing opportunities with members of the hacker community led by Sajeeb Lohani, Celebrated Whitehat hacker and in the Hacker Hall of Fame for Amazon, Yahoo, Github, AT&T, US Defence and others, where we discussed a plethora of topics from ethical hacking, and strategies for effective threat management, emerging cybersecurity trends and vulnerabilities and the role of AI-powered security. His keynote sharing was on "Leveraging the power of Ethical hackers". They discussed a range of topics from unlocking the secrets of effective threat management with their panel of cybersecurity experts plus representatives from the Hacker community, and dived into the realm of cybersecurity and cybercrime analytics as their line-up of hackers and technologists debate the crucial role ethical hacking plays in fortifying digital defences. They examined strategies, best practices, and insights on harnessing the ethical hacker's prowess to stay one step ahead in the ever-evolving threat landscape, and also reviewed on proactive cybersecurity measures that can redefine the way organizations safeguard their digital assets. This was then followed by a discussion with experienced CISOs led by Nick McKenzie, who has held CISO/Senior Exec positions at NAB, Standard Charter Bank, J.P. Morgan, UBS, NatWest and now with Bugcrowd; he moderated the session on "Getting the Balance right, with security testing for business agility. The future of cybersecurity and testing regimes was mapped and canvassed and this was done using a variety of security testing solutions to protect their digital assets at different stages of development. They include pen testing, SAST/ DAST and bug bounty programmes. The panel discuss on project delivery, business costs, scalability and volume of current test solutions, the affect of security assurance if it compromises business agility. Point-in-time penetration test, continuous assurance or a time-boxed bug bounty solutions along with decision making and cost implications were explored and so in this session, technologists and CISOs debated on how to keep future testing regimes aligned with the needs of the business and how to keep the benefits in sight in a rising tide of cost and complexity. Announcement 1 - Penetration Testing Dave Gerry, CEO of Bugcrowd, the co-host for this event, announced an innovative perspective on penetration testing.. a decades-old technique., it was pioneered by the RAND Corporation and the US government in the 1960s in response to burgeoning concerns that data carried on emerging computer networks would be intercepted. RAND employed “tiger teams” that used adversarial techniques to identify vulnerabilities in computer systems. Since then, the practice of employing ethical hackers to find weaknesses in cyber defenses before an attacker has the chance to discover them has remained fundamentally the same. However, the way testing is done and the environment in which it takes place have changed beyond recognition. Penetration testing is now both a regulatory requirement and a regulated industry. For example, penetration testing is a mandatory requirement for certification under ISO 27001, the internationally recognized standard for information security management systems. Bugcrowd introduced enhancements to its Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS) in several major markets last year, and it’s now available in Singapore, as Bugcrowd has successfully obtained the necessary government approvals. Their licence from the Cybersecurity Services Regulation Office saves potential customers the time and expense of having to undergo a longer due diligence process when selecting a pentesting supplier. Working with licensed suppliers is mandatory for government departments and recommended for other organizations. Having offered pentesting services for years, Bugcrowd’s ability to provide a crowdsourced solution is not the only thing that sets us apart. At the heart of our PTaaS is a commitment to reducing the management overhead for pen tests, thus reducing the amount of work that our clients have to put in. Legacy pen test solutions are slow, non-transparent, and low impact, and other PTaaS providers deliver what are often only shallow vulnerability assessments. At Bugcrowd, their customers are able to buy, set up, and launch a human-driven, high- impact pen test, as they are able to access a team matched to their precise needs with just a few clicks, cutting configuration time from days to hours. With no let-up in the volume and intensity of cybersecurity threats, customers are no longer focused solely on suppliers’ ability to discover vulnerabilities; customers also value suppliers’ ability to reduce the management overheads associated with ensuring and enhancing cybersecurity. At Bugcrowd, they are committed to bringing this simplicity and lightness of touch not only to penetration testing but to the range of services they offer. Announcement 2 - AI Bias Assessment Offering Dave also announced that Bugcrowd will launch the AI Bias Assessment Offering for LLM Applications and their First solution in Bugcrowd’s AI Safety and Security portfolio that unleashes human ingenuity to find data bias beyond the reach of traditional testing Nestled on the Bugcrowd Platform. AI Bias Assessment taps the power of the crowdto help enterprises and government agencies adopt Large Language Model (LLM) applications safely, efficiently, and confidently. LLM applications run on algorithmic models that are trained on huge sets of data. Even when that training data is curated by humans, which it often is not, the application can easily reflect “data bias” caused by stereotypes, prejudices, exclusionary language, and a range of other possible biases from the training data. Such biases can lead the model to behave in potentially unintended and harmful ways, adding considerable risk and unpredictability to LLM adoption. Some examples of potential flaws include Representation Bias (disproportionate representation or omission of certain groups in the training data), Pre-Existing Bias (biases stemming from historical or societal prejudices present in the training data), and Algorithmic Processing Bias (biases introduced through the processing and interpretation of data by AI algorithms). Bugcrowd AI Bias Assessments are private, reward-for-results engagements on the Bugcrowd Platform that activate trusted, third-party security researchers (aka a “crowd”) to identify and prioritize data bias flaws in LLM applications. Participants are paid based on the successful demonstration of impact, with more impactful findings earning higher payments. The Bugcrowd Platform’s industry-first, AI-driven approach to researcher sourcing and activation, known as CrowdMatch™, allows it to build and optimize crowds with virtually any skill set, to meet virtually any risk reduction goal, including security testing and beyond. “Bugcrowd’s work with customers like the US DoD’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO), along with their partner ConductorAI, has become a crucial proving ground for AI detection by unleashing the crowd for identifying data bias flaws,” said Dave Gerry, CEO of Bugcrowd. For over a decade, Bugcrowd's unique "skills-as-a-service" approach to security has consistently uncovered more high-impact vulnerabilities than traditional methods. Their customer base, which numbers nearly 1,000, has benefited from this approach, which also provides a clearer line of sight to ROI. With unmatched flexibility and access to a decade of vulnerability intelligence data, the Bugcrowd Platform has evolved over time to reflect the changing nature of the attack surface – including the adoption of mobile infra, hybrid work, APIs, crypto, cloud workloads, and now AI. In 2023 alone, customers found almost 23,000 high-impact vulnerabilities using the Bugcrowd Platform, helping to prevent potential breach-related costs of up to $100 billion. “As the leading crowdsourced security platform provider, Bugcrowd is uniquely positioned to meet the new and evolving challenges of AI Bias Assessment, just as we’ve met the emergent security challenges of previous technology waves such as mobile, automotive, cloud computing, crypto, and APIs,” said Casey Ellis, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Bugcrowd. Truly, overall, a truly amazing and powerful event where we gained insight, knowledge and perspectives into the latest developments in cybersecurity and engage in discussions with leading CISOs and the hacker community around the world, and also work and partner with Bugcrowd - they truly stand out from the crowd! This event truly delivered to share a deep-dive exploration into the evolving landscape of cybersecurity! For more information on Bugcrowd, pls visit https://www.bugcrowd.com/

- Bay Hotel Ho Chi Minh
The Bay Hotel Ho Chi Minh is a boutique hotel in District 1, surrounded by historical sites, attractions, shopping malls, and offices. It offers boutique service with a philosophy of urban comfort, offering 236 rooms in a 16-storey 4-star hotel. Guests can enjoy a stylish restaurant, rooftop pool, and bar facing the Saigon River. The hotel is a favourite destination for business and leisure travelers, offering unparalleled service in the city’s heart. Owned and managed by Bay Hotels and Resorts, an independent hotel group in Singapore, the Bay Hotel Ho Chi Minh is in a class on it's own. Hordes of tourist groups stay at this property, which is a testament to it's popularity in terms of location, service, comfort and value. The group made its debut by opening Bay Hotel Singapore back in 2012. With remarkable results, its second property was opened in the bustling District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In 2023, the group opened a new hotel in Da Nang (Bay Capital Da Nang) We visited and stayed with the hotel, one lovely weekend in the middle of April 2024, and were pleasantly surprised with it's superb location, nestled right in the heart of the District 1 area of Saigon, close to the main drag of the harbour-front along Ton Duc Thang, tucked right in middle of the Nguyen Sieu Coffee Zone enclave, and sitting right next to Japan-town in Quan 1. It is also well positioned and close to all the main cultural sites, within walking distance to the Opera House near Hai Ba Trung, Vincom Center, Nguyen Hue Walking street, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh, Independent Palace and numerous tourist and governmental sites and monuments. It is also close to Districts 2, 4 and 7, and I love the accessibility of this hotel. We checked into the 15th floor, and had a room with a great view of the Ton Duc Thang street and harborfront and also with the Cau (bridge) heading towards District 2. The room was super comfortable, sheets crisp and clean, bathroom modern, amenities and mini fridge complete along with refreshing toiletries and a super fast WIFI for me to do my work. The hotel comes equipped with a lovely rooftop bar termed Propeller (superb views of Saigon here) and an awesome swimming pool with lovely scenic city views, so we did a few laps as well as a few rounds of fitness and weights at the great gym, superb! Chic Restaurant & Bar CHIC Asian-Flavours, as the name says it all, epitomizes stylish, casual dining rich in flavours from Vietnamese, Western, Singaporean and other cuisines in a minimalist environment. Whether you are looking for a spicy kick, a sour tang, a hearty bite, an exotic aroma, or a diverse selection, we can find something that delight our taste buds at CHIC restaurant. We had a couple of meals at Chic @Bay Hotel, including the daily buffet breakfast with my daily yoghurt, eggs, pho, porridge, main dishes, Indian food and Western condiments along with Vietnamese-prepared dishes, variety was packed, well done on this! I also had a nicely-grilled Angus ribeye steak (which comes with a merlot red wine sauce melangé with shallots confit, mushroom and watercress salad), a grilled chicken chop steak (that consisted of a marinated honey and soy chicken served with mashed potatoes), to sample their International offerings. I also tried their Asian offerings, which included a Wok fried beef with onion (which is essentially a tasty wok beef loin, that is served with white onions {so tasty} jasmine rice and dark soya sauce) as well as Hainanese Chicken rice (primarily steamed chicken rice served with chilli sauce and ginger puree). Drinks were super healthy so I had lots of fresh Vietnamese fruit juice, including pineapple, watermelon and coconut juice, very refreshing! A truly enjoyable stay with the Bay Hotel brand - our rating is pegged at 8/10 We would like to express our gratitude and compliments to the following staff, who demonstrated exemplary attitude and a service-centric aptitude that made our stay so enjoyable and memorable, including Theresa and Moon from Sales, Linda from the Front Office, Jolie from Guest Services, as well and Robert, Doanh and Anh from the F&B team. The team truly took care of me, from check-in, site walk, all meals and check-out and also answering calls in my room, with cordial service from the housekeeping team. Past winners on the DP World Tour in Singapore include legends of the game such as Major champions Sir Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam, as well as Colin Montgomerie, who won a record eight Order of Merit titles on the Tour. The tournament has also proved a stepping stone for leading talent across Asia – Arjun Atwal of India and Zhang Lian Wei of China, who were the first-ever winners from their respective countries on the DP World Tour, have both clinched Tour titles in Singapore before. Notably, Singaporean Mardan Marmat delighted the home fans at Laguna National in 2006 when he won the Singapore Masters, becoming the country’s only winner on the DP World Tour to date. Patrick Bowers, Executive Championship Director of the Porsche Singapore Classic, said: “Porsche's title partnership with the DP World Tour to present the Porsche Singapore Classic goes beyond a mere global sporting event featuring the best male professional golfers in the world; it exemplifies our commitment to creating a lifestyle and a unique experience for golf and social enthusiasts. As the Title Partner of the Porsche Singapore Classic, we can also afford fans in Asia a unique brand experience combined with top sport,” said Detlev von Platen, the member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “It thus extends our worldwide involvement in amateur golf with the title partnership at a professional golf event in Asia.” Keith Pelley, Chief Executive Officer of the DP World Tour, added: “As one of the world’s most iconic automotive brands, Porsche have been a cherished partner of the Tour for several years and we’re delighted that they have chosen to extend this relationship by partnering with the new look PorscheSingapore Classic. This is a fantastic validation of the strength of the DP World Tour and the power of our global platform, which Porsche can utilise to help expand their business across Asia.” The DP World Tour returned to Singapore last year after a nine-year hiatus with South Africa’s Ockie Strydom triumphing at Laguna National. The DP World Tour first visited Singapore in 1993, with Major Champions Sir Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam winning the first editions of the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1993 and 1996. Fellow Major Champions Vijay Singh and Adam Scott are also winners on the DP World Tour in Singapore. The 2006 edition of the Singapore Masters, held at Laguna National, was the scene of the most memorable moment in the country’s golfing history, when home favourite Mardan Mamat lifted the trophy, finishing one stroke ahead of England’s Nick Dougherty. “We’re looking forward expectantly to the first edition of the Porsche Singapore Classic,” said Deniz Keskin, Director Brand Management and Partnerships at Porsche AG. “The mixture of top golf with world class players, big stars from Asia and the opportunity to savour exclusive Porsche moments promises to be a memorable brand experience. This event fits perfectly to the internationalisation of our sponsoring strategy and will hopefully leave a lasting impression here in Singapore.” Other players confirmed for the US$2,500,000 Porsche Singapore Classic include DP World Tour winners Rikuya Hoshino, Rasmus Højgaard, Tom McKibbin and Yannik Paul, and Asian Games champion Kho Taichi. Singapore will be represented by three qualifiers: Nicklaus Chiam, Joshua Yap and amateur Irvyn Tan. Chef Jay is the visionary behind the concept; infusing his expertise and passion into every dish "We believe that a dish is only as good as its freshest element, so we want to showcase the wonders of fresh produce and make them the star of the dish," Chef Siaw remarks. "Our goal is to not only tantalise taste buds but also to evoke inspiration and create lasting memories for our guests. With the launch of 'Where The Land Meets The Sea,' we are excited to elevate our guests' dining experience to new heights." Featuring over 50 exquisite dishes that showcase the team's masterful blend of flavours and textures, Where The Land Meets The Sea is a gastronomic adventure that highlights and enhances the distinct flavours of every fresh ingredient. From inviting starters to hearty mains and indulgent desserts, each dish is a testament to the culinary artistry and dedication to quality. Our Tasting Menu We had the first signature appetiser, the Hiramasa Kingfish, which came elevated with Green Onion Purée, Puffed Rice Crackers, Yuzu Ponzu Sauce, showcasing the restaurant's innovative spirit and bold use of flavours - multi-dimensional in the taste department. The Pan-Fried Foie Gras well paired and prevalent with an array of special ingredients from banana textures, rum & raisins, offers an intriguing blend of sweet and savoury flavours, tangy and piquant - a lively and subtle dish that makes for a successful guest appearance; I love the way the foie gras was done, pan-fried nicely toasted, and not too harsh and over-done. As a seafood enthusiast. I thoroughly enjoyed the next dish, a Pan Fried Hokkaido Scallop that was delicately paired with Caramelized Beets and Parsley Foam, adding depth and complexity to the dish, imparting a savoury sweetness that enhances the natural flavours of the Bacalao Brandade, enhanced by the umami flavours and sweetness of the Parsley rémoulade took centre stage. We were then invited to select from an indulgent curation of premium meat cuts, each expertly char-grilled to perfection and thoughtfully paired with an assortment of sides and sauces, so we chose to savour the succulence of the Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks, which was gently cooked to perfection in a rich red wine sauce and served with creamy potato mousseline and roasted shallots. The top highlight on the menu is the Char-grilled Wood Smoked Quail; it was presented in an exquisite wooden chest (I term it the Kabinet) for the ultimate wood-smoked aroma, the dish is the star of the grill items that truly elevates the dining experience, and is packed with rosemary extensions; one of the best dishes that I have tasted in 2024, so this is nicely sprinkled with flavour, not too salty yet juicy. To conclude the culinary journey, diners with a sweet tooth can indulge in delicious and visually tantalising desserts, so we tried the Pandan Soufflé that was accompanied by lemongrass pistachio biscotti and palm sugar ice cream, truly a celebration of local flavours with a modern twist. Our dining experience included two glasses of sommelier's choice red or white wine, per person, and I had the Markus Molitor Kinheimer Rosenberg Kabinett - a Riesling from the Mosel Region in Germany 2018 vintage - which was honey-laden, pale yellow, medium body and medium finish - nice fructose coverage along with a Chateau de la Dauphine, a powerful 90% merlot with 10@ Cabernet Franc hailing from Fronsac in Bordeaux 2014 vintage, packed with crimson red, fruity, cinnamon, subtle and well balanced. As guests step into 15 Stamford, they are greeted by an elegant ambience with colonial architectural details and a unique retractable stained-glass ceiling, offering breathtaking surroundings. The interiors feature classic European elements alongside eclectic Asian touches, with the filigree artworks adding timeless heritage charms to the overall ambience, making it the perfect setting for guests to enjoy a delightful meal. For a more private dining experience, 15 Stamford offers The Private Room, featuring large windows that provide abundant natural daylight and fitted with AV equipment, which can be transformed into a truly creative venue. The venue hosts up to 12 guests in a long-table setting, tastefully matched with beautifully upholstered blue chairs as a tribute to the Capitol’s fabled Blue Room. The new Wine Terrace, a creative extension of the restaurant, is a quiet retreat for wine aficionados, or guests simply looking for an oasis in the city to enjoy a fuss-free experience of light bites, complemented by a curated wine and beverage list. This exclusive nook, featuring a wooden deck and plush furniture provides the space for one to unwind and relax, or to celebrate a special occasion. - Lion Brewery : Nitro Stout
Lion Brewery Co Pioneers Craft Beer Landscape in Singapore with the Launch of Nitro Stout in Cans Singapore-founded Lion Brewery Co is elevating the country's craft beer presence on the global stage. Breaking new ground, they are not only the first craft brewery to pioneer a canned nitro stout with in-line nitro technology, but also the first Singaporean craft beer to be distributed in Dubai. Cold Smoke Nitro Stout - 440ML Can With roasted malt aromas and low hop bitterness, Lion Brewery Co Nitro Stout is universally acclaimed as a delicious, easy-going beer. Originally brewed to commemorate Earth Day, this stout has since become a staple in the Lion Brewery Co core series, thanks to its smooth mouthfeel and unique flavour profile. FromMarch 2024, beer enthusiasts can enjoy the Nitro Stout in the comfort of their own home, as Lion Brewery Co releases a canned version of the popular draught stout. This marks the first time a Singaporean craft beer brand has produced a canned Nitro Stout beer. When poured, the Cold Smoke Nitro Stout Can promises to deliver the same cascade effect and gorgeously smooth mouthfeel as the draught version. The genesis of this unique drinking experience lies in cutting-edge canning technology perfected at Lion Brewery Co UK partner production facility. A recent advancement embraced by only a select number of breweries globally, the process involves infusing liquid nitrogen - stored at a chilling -196 degrees Celsius - into the can just before it is sealed. This distinctive nitrogen dosing, as opposed to traditional CO2, results in a creamy cascade when the beer is poured. Lion Brewery Co Nitro Stout not only boasts exceptional taste but also reflects the brand's dedication to innovation and environmental sustainability. An interesting feature of this brewing innovation is the elimination of the plastic widget insert commonly found in traditional nitro cans. By avoiding these additions, Lion Brewery Co emphasises eco-friendly packaging and ensures the can is more easily recyclable. For the perfect pour, consumers are advised to follow a simple pre-opening ritual. The beer should be gently rotated several times and then poured into a glass to enhance the cascade effect. This technique, reminiscent of the traditional draught stout pour, improves the Nitro Stout's cascade, resulting in a creamy, tight head – the quintessential hallmark of a carefully poured stout - and a smooth mouthfeel. Lion Brewery Co is excited to announce the release of the Nitro Stout in cans, now available online for purchase. A case of 12 x 440ml can be acquired for $110 at https://lionbreweryco.com/lion-brewery-co-shop/. For individuals seeking instant satisfaction, the Nitro Stout is already on offer at selected bars, restaurants, and hotels across Singapore. First Singaporean Craft Beer Brand Available in Dubai Lion Brewery Co continues its global expansion, having secured its position as the first Singaporean craft beer brand available in Dubai. Through a strategic distribution partnership with African & Eastern, one of the largest distributors in the Middle East, Lion Brewery Co products hit the shelves in Autumn last year. Exclusively available in African & Eastern retail stores initially, plans are underway to expand availability to on-trade establishments such as bars, restaurants, and hotels in the coming months, as well as to expand into other parts of the UAE. “The reception in Dubai to our Pale Ale and Island Lager has been fantastic, with demand almost outpacing supply. We are glad to be able to bring our premium and independent beers to beer consumers in the UAE, with additional products slated for launch later this year,” said Will Julius, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Lion Brewery Co, "and we are equally excited about the introduction of our Nitro Stout cans. The Nitro Stout market is large in Singapore and yet historically there has been very little choice for Stout drinkers, so we are delighted to be able to offer them a delicious, easygoing Nitro Stout. This step forward in our commitment to innovative brewing experiences reflects our dedication to delivering diverse and high-quality beer that elevates every experience”. In celebration of this milestone, Lion Brewery Co will be hosting a launch party hosted by Nusa Indonesian Grill on Saturday, 16 March from 3 PM to 7 PM. Guests can be one of the first in Singapore to experience the nitro-stout beer while indulging in mouthwatering dishes from Nusa's kitchen. There will also be exciting giveaways and games for guests to win prizes. Event Details: Date: Saturday, 16 March 2024 Time: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Location: Nusa Grill, 70 Collyer Quay, #01-03, Singapore 049323 Additionally, Lion Brewery Co will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day event on 17 March where the Nitro Stout will be available on the menu.
