H. MOSER & CIE. MAKES THE PERPETUAL CALENDAR MORE ACCESSIBLE WITH A VERSION FOR EVERYDAY WEAR Neuhausen am Rheinfall, March 16th, 2016 In theory, sand, water and high-tech mechanics do not mix well. However, H. Moser & Cie. has developed a perpetual calendar in its Pioneer collection that is the first complication of its kind to be water-resistant to 120 metres. Why? To be on time for the ice-cream man? For those who think it’s important to sport a stylish timepiece even on the beach? To seduce mermaids? Well, yes and no. Some may say “pointless”. H. Moser & Cie. would argue “incredibly practical”. In 2015, H. Moser & Cie. launched the Pioneercollection. Bold and modern, the mark of a pioneering and adventurous spirit, with a strong design which makes reference to the industrial world, models in this collection are both elegant and comfortable – perfect for everyday wear. The Pioneer Perpetual Calendar follows the same philosophy: a perpetual calendar which is easy to use and comfortable to wear. Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., sums up: “Without a doubt, the perpetual calendar is the most useful complication of all. But, because the mechanism can be fragile, it is often kept safely hidden away in a box. With the Pioneer Perpetual Calendar, we wanted to create a piece that is perfect for everyday wear, on land or in water, with its complex mechanism protected in a lightweight, robust and watertight case.” The case of the Pioneer Perpetual Calendar is akin to a suit of armour, measuring 42.8 mm in diameter, and made of several sections. This modular case is made from 5N red gold, featuring black DLC-finished titanium components continuing the modern interpretation in the exceptional non-geometric shapes adorning the sides of H. Moser & Cie models. The Pioneer Perpetual Calendar features an ardoise fumé dial. To emphasise the practical aspect of this model, its leaf-shaped hands are filled with Superluminova® and complemented by luminescent markers indicating the hours on the flange. As for the strap, H. Moser & Cie. has chosen black alligator leather. The boldest customers, however, will choose the rubber strap. At the heart of the Pioneer Perpetual Calendar beats the legendary H. Moser & Cie. perpetual calendar calibre, a marvel of ingenuity and complexity enhancing a complication which is executed with absolute simplicity. It features 12 indices indicating both the hours and the months, a date window at 3 o’clock, an off-centre small seconds at 6 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock: powered by the HMC 800 hand-wound movement, this watch guarantees a generous minimum 7-day power reserve. With its Pioneer Perpetual Calendar, H. Moser & Cie. is reinterpreting the perpetual calendar, bringing it into the 21st century and ranking it amongst those models which marry style and practicality. Guaranteed to delight water sports fans and fish alike! - Timothy Oulton 2017 Collection
Timothy Oulton Reveals its 2017 Collection: For the Lounger & the Entertainer Timothy Oulton unveils its daring 2017 collection, exploring the archetypal experiences of the living room. In connecting with how people choose to live, two key modes emerge: relaxing and entertaining. The new collection has been created in consideration of these different lifestyles, brought to life in two distinctive design concepts called “Ultralounge” and “Hosted Living”. The Ultralounge concept combines all the elements necessary for a new level of relaxation – a light and serene space for weekend lounging from the sofa, to unwind your mind and simply chill, uninterrupted. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the Hosted Living concept is created for people who love to entertain, with elegant and refined pieces that spark a conversation, infusing and activating the senses with rich, contrasting textures and plenty of drama. Ultralounge: Ultralounge builds on Timothy Oulton’s existing casual and rugged collections; Coastal Drift and Loft. New deep and slouchy sofas invite you to sink in, let go and release, while pared back storage keeps distractions hidden away and epic coffee tables anchor the room. New for 2017, the Alto sectional sofa is designed for the ultimate chill-out, featuring a double layer of pillows covered in the softest linen. Wide timber armrests between the seats hold everything you need to hand – as once you’re sat, you won’t want to move Hosted Living: In contrast, the Hosted Living concept builds on the strength and glamour of the existing Age of Elegance collection but updates it with a little more urban modernity. Featuring supportive, upright sofas in rich and sumptuous new velvets and leathers, “conversation starter” coffee tables and bold brass cabinetry to display your favourite pieces. The new Den sofa in Revival Velvet features a high back and sides to create a feeling of intimacy for engaging conversations, while the Inception coffee table and mirror light up for after-dark drama, inspired by 1970s infinity mirrors. Also new for 2017, Timothy Oulton continues to push the boundaries of leather work. A distinctive woven finish is featured on the Weave chair, using leather strips that have been woven by hand using a needle, to create a rich textural surface. The company’s first water-resistant leather is also introduced; Aussie is a nubuck finish that has been immersed in oil for many hours to soften the hide, creating a silky leather that also offers some practical resistance to spills. Expanding upon the highly original and innovative Vagabond leather range, this year also sees the introduction of blue and mustard finishes, hand-painted on the finished piece in lighter and darker hues to create an authentically aged effect. Timothy Oulton continues its quest for new materials, and for 2017 introduces a cutting-edge finish called Carbonstone. This unique material is created using a technically complex carbon-based process to transform reclaimed shards of quartz into solid crystallised stone. Carbonstone is featured across the 2017 Collection in both lighting and furniture, including the new Polar hexagonal side tables. New innovations in Timothy Oulton’s iconic lighting collection include the Classic Volt; a modern, featherweight version of the traditional chandelier, handcrafted from a simple wire frame that transfers the power to each bulb. Glamorous additions to the range include the Night Rod pendant and lamp, designed with staggered optical glass prisms for a shimmering dance of sparkle. Tim: “The starting point for the new collection was really to connect with how people are using their homes, and then design specifically for those needs. Your home is where you connect with your family and friends, but people do this in different ways – and that’s what we’ve explored. The right design can provide the context, the platform and the catalyst for that connection. “With over 35 galleries worldwide from New York to Amsterdam and in the grandeur of Harrods in London, the company continues its plan of opening new stores in carefully selected ‘great cities’, with recent additions including Mexico City, New Delhi and Peru. Further openings are planned for 2017.

- To Be Yourself – BALL Engineer II Volcano
Engineer II Volcano Pioneering the revolutionary mumetal watch case for supreme anti-magnetic protection True to its pioneering reputation, BALL Watch Company presents the Engineer II Volcano, a new model composed of materials never before used in the world of watchmaking. For many years BALL Watch has focused its research and development strategy on improving the reliability of its watch movements. The accuracy of a mechanical watch is easily affected by the magnetic fields to which we are exposed almost constantly in everyday life. The briefest of contacts with an artificial magnet may be enough to magnetize an automatic movement and cause the complete stoppage of the mechanism. According to accepted standards in watchmaking, an automatic watch is deemed “anti-magnetic” when its operation can resist a magnetic field of at least 4,800 A/m without its accuracy being subsequently affected by more than 30 seconds per day. Volcanoes are a perfect environment for research and exploration, particularly admired by modern-day adventurers. These natural wonders are a source of inspiration for the technicians responsible for research and development at BALL Watch Company. The links between volcanoes and magnetic fields inevitably led our researchers to create enhanced anti-magnetic protection for our timepieces. After perfecting a retractable anti-magnetic diaphragm made of mumetal, BALL Watch devoted its efforts to developing this protection further by incorporating this material in the components of the watch case. The case-band of the Engineer II Volcano is made up of superimposed layers of carbon and mumetal, a patented composite material used for the first time in watchmaking. The case, cast in Switzerland, displays a textured carbon appearance reminiscent of lava from a volcano that has cooled to form volcanic rock. Carbon is a material with excellent resistance to scratching and impacts and only weighs about 20% as much as the steel customarily used for watch cases, a significant gain in itself in terms of lightness on the wrist. Due to these properties, it is a highly prized construction material, particularly in the aeronautical and automobile industries. Mumetal is an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum with very high magnetic permeability, which enables it to attract and deflect static or low-frequency magnetic field lines, against which other methods of attenuation are relatively ineffective. That gives this alloy anti-magnetic properties far superior to those of the soft iron usually employed in watchmaking. It is used to make magnetic shielding for industry, research and high technology. Thus the revolutionary structure of the mumetal case of the Engineer II Volcano allows an extremely high protection against magnetic fields. This model is designed in an elegant combination of colors inspired by volcanic rocks. The black carbon case, 45 mm in diameter and 12.4 mm thick, gives the watch an especially sporty and contemporary look. The dial is predominantly slategray, with subtle touches of red like the lava of a volcano. The indexes and the hour and minute hands are furnished with 15 tubes of luminous H₃ gas, used on all BALL Watch models. This cutting-edge Swiss technology is a hundred times more powerful than other luminescence techniques commonly used in watchmaking. The Engineer II Volcano has a Swiss BALL RR1102-C automatic movement, certified by the COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute), and displays hours, minutes, seconds, day and date. This watch can withstand impacts of up to 5,000 Gs and is water-resistant to 100 meters. An antireflective sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown constitute the other notable features of this watch. The fashionable look of the watch can be completed with a NATO strap in gray and black stripes. Today, more than ever, BALL Watch is continuing its journey and asserting its role as a key protagonist in the exploration of modern time and the evolution of watchmaking history Engineer II Volcano Automatic Series Model Number: NM3060C-NCJ-GY | NM3060C-PCJ-GY Movement: Automatic caliber BALL RR1102-C Chronometer certified COSC Functions: 15 micro gas tubes on hour, minute, second hands and dial for night reading capability Shock resistant to 5,000Gs Patented anti-magnetic protection Water resistant to 100m/330ft Hours, minutes, sweep seconds, day and date Case: Patented Mumetal & Carbide composite Ø 45mm, height 12.4mm Anti-reflective sapphire crystal Screwed-in crown Band: Canvas strap with standard buckle or rubber strap with standard buckle Dial: Grey

International exhibitors attested to the quality of sales leads gained and valuable new business contacts made with like-minded industry partners from Southeast Asia and beyond. Held alongside the 20th edition of Food&HotelAsia2016 (FHA2016), the region’s premier and most comprehensive food and hospitality trade event and jointly organised by Singapore Exhibition Services and Messe Düsseldorf Asia, ProWine ASIA 2016 played host to 257 established wine producers and distributors from 30 countries. More significant was the impressive 8,285 attendees, including trade visitors, masterclass and seminar speakers and delegates from 44 countries and regions who attended the four-day trade event. Of these, 47 per cent came from overseas including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines who were able to view and taste first-hand a wide variety of wine and spirits. Marius Berlemann, ProWein Director and Global Head of Wine & Spirits, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, said “Having followed in the footprint of a highly successful global formula, unique to the ProWein World series, which brings together an international variety of wine brands and producers under one roof, we are extremely pleased to see this internationality reflected here at ProWine ASIA. With overseas exhibitor participation at 88 per cent hailing from 30 countries, this reinforces the strategic position that the exhibition plays in fulfilling the needs and demands for such a dedicated platform in this market.” “The business networks and the promising connections that have been garnered between industry players and international wine producers looking to expand into Southeast Asia, alongside some 600 masterclass participants, has certainly exceeded our expectations. The encouraging response we have received at ProWine ASIA, extending the reach of ProWein Düsseldorf to a Southeast Asian audience, is testament to the dynamic potential of this region’s wine and spirits market,” said Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia. Regional Launch Pad for Singaporean Companies There was notable Singaporean representation at the show, with well-known companies such as Whistler Wine and Spirits, Tuck Lee Ice Works, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) like True Heritage Brew and Bottles & Bottles. They were able to pitch their products to a wide range of industry players, and meet their Southeast Asian counterparts to discuss possibilities for collaboration to propel their business regionally. “The strong support we have seen from both international and local exhibitors and trade attendees for this event is most heartening, and we are happy to see the connections and deals made in this first ProWine ASIA. We are assured that this event has brought synergistic cross-over value between the food and hotel sectors with that of the wine and spirits industry, and extended the ProWine ASIA visitors base to beyond the Southeast Asia region. The event also allowed attendees from FHA to expand their horizons in this one-stop sourcing platform, by experiencing the varied and exciting international selection of wine and spirits for the discerning consumers in this region,” said Lindy Wee, Chief Executive, Singapore Exhibition Services. Valuable Knowledge Gleaned from Masterclasses and Seminars Understanding each note one sip at a time, trade delegates to ProWine ASIA got to learn from the best in the industry with specialised masterclasses and seminars, each focusing on different aspects of wine and spirits. “It was a very informative masterclass session for me. I got the opportunity to be introduced to and taste lesser known wines from the Sicily and Sardegna region, and expand my knowledge towards Italian wines. The session covered the history and production of the wines, and its distinct characteristics and taste notes, which I truly appreciated,” said Michael Gontana, General Manager of PT. Sarindo Makmur Sejahtera. Indra Kumar, Certified Specialist of Wine and Champion of Singapore Sommelier Competition 2009, said “The earlier masterclass on Spanish wines was fantastic. We had overseas and local importers, sommeliers and those from related F&B sectors attending the session, which led to many productive and rewarding discussions. ProWine ASIA 2016 provided a dedicated platform for knowledge exchange for the wines and spirits industry.” Witnessing Champagne Sparkle with Life while Poured at Asia’s First Champagne Lounge Adding to the showground’s sparkle and glamour was Asia’s first Champagne Lounge that boasted an array of more than 25 different types of champagne – many of which were unique ‘first in Asia’ labels, by renowned champagne producers. Trade visitors even had the chance to seek advice and consult with Oenologists to better understand and appreciate champagne. On a visit to stay updated of new products available in the market and latest drinking trends, Mr Samuel Tse, Service Director of The American Club in Singapore, shared that, “the Champagne Lounge is an interesting concept. Being in-charge of making recommendations to my purchasing department on the wines to stock for our private club members, the Lounge allowed me to discover and taste the various types of champagne all at one place. The unique champagne liqueur and a few quality Rose champagnes that I got to sample are some of my picks.” New Industry Networks Forged for Growing Business in Asia The exhibition featured a multi-national selection of wines and spirits, with Pavilions from established wine producing countries like Australia, Austria, Chile, Italy, France and more. Global wine producers, which made up a majority of the exhibitors, were pleased to have gotten this opportunity to reach local Singapore and Asian markets through this platform. Hanspeter W. Stutz, President at Grand Pré Wines Limited, an exhibitor from Canada, expressed his thoughts on ProWine ASIA, echoing the views of many international exhibitors, said, “I believe that Singapore is a strong hub for wines and spirits in this region and a great market to launch our products in, as a starting point to increasingly bring them to more countries here. At ProWine ASIA, we were able to showcase our products for the first time to many potential Asian distributors and buyers. We will most definitely take part again if we can, at the next ProWine ASIA trade show!” “I want to bring my special Rosolo wines made from dried grapes to the world, and Singapore was an essential stop for me as it is the gateway to Southeast Asia. Now is an opportune moment for me to target Singapore and the surrounding countries in this region,” said Franz Jägersberger, owner of Austrian wine producer Weingut JbN. The next edition of ProWine ASIA will be held in 2018 from 24 to 27 April alongside Food&HotelAsia2018 (FHA2018). For more information, please visit www.prowineasia.com. Blending the fiery passion of the Andalucian character with Seville’s relaxed, easygoing outlook, it is a collection that captivates. The Spring Summer 2016 men’s collection features a playful mix of formal and everyday, where bright colours go to the boardroom and suiting goes weekend. Summer sunshine brings a new confidence with a return to statement patterns for men. Wild, freeform graphics and large geometrics add attitude to a classic two-piece suit. The Spring Summer 2016 women’s collection radiates pure optimism with whites, brights and patterns that burst with summer vibrancy. Traditional culture meets contemporary art in a diverse story that brings authenticity to urban sophisticates. Vivid fabrics of Mao Tribe are reinterpreted into layers of contrasting brights, graphic shapes and embroideries. Pure Sophistication triumphs with bright, carefree, cruise-inspired pieces with clean silhouettes, lavish gemstones and stud embellishments. 1960s nostalgia comes to play with a palette of bright pastels, paired with warm neutrals and giant pop art florals in summer shades, as well as big bold prints on simple silhouettes.
- Visionairs Gallery Asia
Both natural and sophisticated, Seb Janiak’s photography is constantly on the verge of emotion. He achieves this by the use of forms and codes which need to be relearned. This may seem like a feat but it is, above all, a strange dialogue. We experience, in different degrees, feelings of opening and constriction which are close to pure sensation. And if, as the photographer states, “matter is just an illusion,” then his images, in counterpoint, are an illusion of matter; but matter from which the creative artist has nevertheless removed a small corner of the veil. The risk of stagnancy is counteracted by a break-away with no possible return, underscored by the artist’s approach and by the forced flight of photography from its chrysalis. The beholder finds himself caught in a sudden beam of light, like a shell which has been opened by the jubilant skill of the artist who tracks down the “figure” to the ultimate frontiers of the unseen. The photography flourishes in all its fullness through this return upstream. The flat surface commutes into such depth that it appears as an invention. It was only after he had begun the series “Kingdom et Photon” that this approach, focusing on the Unseen, fully penetrated the mind of the artist. Below the chaosmic appearance is to be found a singular art drawn from the very roots of matter and chemistry. The finished work exceeds all archaeological treatises and molecular microphotography. It brings forth the true fullness of what is invisible. It attests to new demands never separated from forgotten fundamentals. In the action of photographing and in the immediacy of the present moment, Seb Janiak sets off a presaging tremor whereby life seems to assume some kind of absolute quality. Our artist may well claim contritely that: “My work simply uses the manifestation of invisible forces – photography is incapable of seeing what is invisible in the way that physicists can”; in his “Photon” series, the prints set off signals from the very depths of both the microcosmic and, paradoxically, the astronomical realms. Everything comes back together: life and death, the real and the imaginary, the past and the future, the top and the bottom, the communicable and the incommunicable. Not wishing to be considered in any way as a theorist of some kind of art revolution, Seb Janiak does something better: he remains the bearer of a proud, modest ideal. And with it goes a form of intransigency which does not overstep the rights of “earthly” authority. The artist relies on his own strength to create a truly dazzling apparition. That of an astonishing world, both strange and singular, which replaces the occult by a vision of what is occulted, whilst an almost shamanic intent replaces a mere materialistic vision which can explain nothing and can produce no opening up of consciousness. For the actual shooting, Seb Janiak set himself a rule: despite being a pioneer in the field of digital imaging processes and post-production tools, he deliberately chooses to leave all this behind him: “Today, anyone can have access to Photoshop or something similar, so there’s no point in my pursuing that path”, he explains. Exploring uncharted territories is hence as much a matter of using new tools as possessing a perfect technique in the tradition of the photographic art.
