CRYSTAL JADE LAUNCHES NEW MENU MADE WITH IMPOSSIBLE™ PORK.

Singapore, 1 August 2022 – This week, Impossible™ Pork is making its debut at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao – the casual dining brand under award-winning Chinese culinary group, Crystal Jade. The chain is launching its first Impossible™ menu inspired by local flavours and classic favourites, the new menu features seven dishes made with delicious Impossible™ Pork. Starting August 1, the new menu will be exclusively available at the brand’s latest outlet at i12 Katong and on Deliveroo, before rolling out at all outlets in Singapore later this year.

Well-established for its refined menu of quality and well-executed Northern Chinese specialities, Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao will soon also serve up modern twists on provincial favourites – this time, with Impossible™ Pork, a delicious, nutritious plant-based pork that is versatile for every cuisine and far more sustainable than pork from pigs.

Alongside classic Chinese delights like Mapo Tofu and Dan Dan La Mian, the new Impossible™ menu by Crystal Jade will also feature the first ever locally-inspired Steamed Impossible™ Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao.


● Steamed Impossible™ Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao, 植物肉骨茶小笼包($9.90 for 6 pieces, $14.90 for 10 pieces)

Literally translated as ‘meat bone tea’ from the Hokkien dialect, bak kut teh is easily one of Singapore’s most iconic dishes. Available in 6 or 10 pieces, this rendition of Xiao Long Bao is made with Impossible Pork, marinated in herbs and spices, and can be best enjoyed with a side of tea for a most authentic experience.

Pan-fried Shanghai Impossible™ Pork and Vegetable Bun, 植物猪肉蔬菜翡翠生煎包 ($6.90)

A crowd favourite, the pan-fried Shanghai Impossible™ Pork and Vegetable Bun guarantees a burst of flavour in every bite. From juicy fillings to a crispy skin, these buns are a perfect add-on to any meal!

Mini Impossible™ Wanton, 植物猪肉蔬菜小云吞 ($7.90)

A classic choice, each silky wanton is packed with generous pieces of Impossible™ Pork, which is then wrapped neatly in wanton skin and served in a piquant broth.

● Wok-fried French Bean, Eggplant and Impossible™ Pork with Lao Gan Ma Sauce, 老干妈植 物猪肉炒茄子四季豆($14.90)

This is a delicious Chinese home-style dish stir-fried in a wok. Featuring the juicy Impossible Pork and Lao Gan Ma Sauce, this dish is guaranteed to pack a punch with each bite.

● Impossible™ Mapo Tofu, 植物猪肉麻婆豆腐 ($15.90)

One for the spice lovers! Mapo tofu is a popular Chinese dish from Sichuan province known for its fiery bright red sauce. Made with simmered silken tofu flavoured with Impossible™ Pork, this dish will definitely set those taste buds on fire.

Signature Small Bowl Dan Dan La Mian with Impossible™ Pork, 植物猪肉四川担担小碗面 ($6.90)

A staple for every meal, the thin and springy hand-pulled noodles and Impossible™ Pork are tossed in the aromatic scallion oil, giving the dish an interesting layer and complex flavour of nutty richness and spiciness.

● Sautéed Minced Impossible™ Pork with Basil served with Romaine Lettuce, 九层塔植物猪肉 松、罗马生菜包($18.90)

Sautéed with a slight caramelisation at the edges, the Impossible Pork shines and provides a burst of flavour, with fresh romaine lettuce adding a refreshing crunch.

Impossible Pork is better for the planet and tastes better than pork from pigs. In a blind taste test of 200 consumers in Hong Kong, Impossible Pork was preferred 54% to 46% over ground pork from pigs, scoring higher on all attributes tested, including overall liking, appearance liking, flavour liking, texture liking, and purchase intent.

The plant-based pork is certified gluten-free and contains no nitrates, no animal hormones, and no antibiotics. Because it is made from plants, Impossible Pork is far more sustainable than pork from pigs. Compared to a 113g serving of conventional animal pork, Impossible Pork uses 81% less water, 66% less land and generates 77% less greenhouse gas emissions based on an addendum to the Impossible Sausage Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
