We were greeted with a product with superb finesse when we were introduced to a legendary maison that is regarded for its inimitable liquid and unique distillation process, Bisquit & Dubouché sets itself from the competitor set by introducing its award-winning duo (V.S.O.P. and X.O) to fine cognac and premium spirit aficionados in Singapore.
The brand is infused and forged with 200 years of heritage and fearlessness and its debut in Singapore is marked with a return to its original name to honour its founders, and a refreshed modern-styled packaging that defies traditional expressions whilst revolutionising the experience of cognac appreciation just as it did 200 years ago.
REFRESHED FOR INSPIRATION
Following its renaming, the brand sought to bring forth its progressive spirit by refreshing
visuals that challenge codes of cognac packaging. Envisioned to convey excellence with
a modern perspective, its new bottle design flaunts an ornamentation that exudes minimal luxury.
Repackaged in a solid square with gentle curves to transmit strength and confidence
while retaining ease in handling, the liquid is securely sealed with a silver knurled cap to
accent preciousness. A central feature, the usual sticker labels have been replaced with
an embossed logo to spotlight its redesigned griffin motif to accentuate boldness while
guarding the precious liquid that beckons within. Finished cleanly with a sleek label or
engraved metal that reunites both founders on the neck and base, the resulting architecture symbolises effortless opulence with a promise of mesmerising encounters
with every pour.
“As we announce Bisquit & Dubouché’s introduction to new markets in the beginning of
its third century, our intent was to disrupt traditional perceptions of cognac in modern
consumers. With foundations paved by fearless founders, this reimagination tells a story
of rebellion over conformity to inspire newfound appreciation of cognac and in a way,
challenge audiences to venture forth with audacity, patience and hopefully, a glass of

Instead of relying solely on technicalities, every batch is inspected continuously on merits
of taste and smell guided by intuition and knowledge. Waiting for the precise moment to
cut the “tails” by hand, the distillers are able to expertly retain the “heart” of the cognac
to guarantee an unrivalled signature aroma, floral character and the perfect concentration of fruitiness. The liquid is then patiently aged in hand-made oak casks till
colours mature and characteristics are pronounced. The process finally concludes by
converging different ages, crus and wood to result in blends that are one of its kind,
regaled for their full-bodied richness and perfumed hearts.

Distinguished as classics differentiated by age and blending of crus, the V.S.O.P. and X.O.
are all heralded for possessing an innate smoothness that seduces drinkers – be it novice
or an expert palate – with a floral and fruity bouquet of nuanced aromas, that follows
through with discerning notes of honey, fig and dark fruits
V.S.O.P. – THE EXTREMELY VERSATILE ONE (S$129)
Recognised internationally as the epitome of perfection with its slew of awards, the
V.S.O.P. (Very Superior Old Pale) is marked by its smoothness and mellowness that
welcomes drinkers to enjoy the liquid in ways pure or mixed. Slowly matured in French
oak barrels for a minimum of four years using ratios of all four main crus, the process
yields a seductive warm amber that exudes inviting whiffs of apricot, honey, sweet spices
and a closing nuance of rose. While versatile in character, its supple notes of
honeysuckle, citrus and mango are best experienced when savoured neat or on ice.
X.O. – FOR THE TASTE PURISTS (S$365)
Crafted by maturing predominantly prestigious crus from Grande and Petite Champagne
in oak barrels for a minimum of ten years, the X.O. (Extra Old) is indubitably the one made
for true cognac connoisseurs. Immediately captivating on the shelf with its silver-metal
engraved bottle neck and base, along with a deep coppery amber liquid that resides
within, the X.O. is stunning in all expressions: visual, taste and smell. Boasting an unforgettable aroma of smoked wood, cocoa, candied fruit and plum, the expressions
come to life when sipped – gradually unveiling an indelible richness of plum, mocha,
cedar wood and liquorice. Full-bodied yet silky and sumptuous, the X.O. is best enjoyed
neat for an unforgettable, multi-sensorial experience.
