SINGAPORE, 10 July 2018 – Robert Parker Wine Advocate, the world’s most recognised authority on fine wines, is bringing back its much-lauded Matter of Taste wine event on 25th August at the Royal Pavilion Ballroom, Regent Hotel Singapore.

The fifth edition will feature more than 300 prestigious and discovery wines rated 90 Robert Parker points and above from around the world, including exceptional wines rated 100 Robert Parker points, during the five hours of unlimited wine tasting from 12pm till 5pm. For just S$138 nett (early bird price of $118), which comes with a one-year subscription to Robert Parker Wine Advocate (worth US$99), the Walkabout Tasting will take you across the globe — from Alentejo, Alsace, Barossa, Basilicata, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Campania, Catalonia, Central Otago, Champagne, Chile, Friuli, Douro, Hawke’s Bay, Languedoc, Lombardy, Margaret River, McLaren Vale, Maipo, Marlborough, Mendoza, Neuchatel, Napa, Oregon, Piedmont, Penedès, Priorat, Rhône, Rias Baixas, Rioja, Santa Barbara, San Francisco Bay, Sardinia, Sicily, Sonoma, Trentino, Tuscany, Umbria, Walker Bay, to Washington and other wine regions. This is an exceptional rare, not-to-be-missed wine tasting experience that showcases great wine diversity.

This year’s edition will also highlight Oregon wines where some of the world’s most interesting Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays come from, offering a rare glimpse at some of the best California has to offer. Wine lovers who have experienced great wines will be able to make special orders via wine merchants and distributors present at the event.

Wine makers from iconic wineries around the world, as well as Wine Advocate critics with the presence of Managing Editor Joe Czerwinski, reviewer for Rhône, South of France, Australia and New Zealand, and Erin Brooks, reviewer for Oregon, will be on-site to exchange knowledge and share insights on the wines.

Pioneered in Singapore, the signature wine event of the year brings together specially curated wine selections from around the world and offers expert masterclasses and unforgettable wine-pairing dinners hosted by world-renowned winemakers and Wine Advocate reviewers. In past years, the event has featured over 4000 fine wines in nine cities, including New York City, London, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Zurich. The Matter of Taste editions have showcased over 1000 wineries since inception.

This year, Matter of Taste Singapore will play host to six exclusive Wine Tasting Masterclasses on 25th August and three exclusive Wine Dinners, offering guests the opportunity to explore and expand their knowledge of more varieties, styles and wine regions. These Masterclasses will be conducted by winemakers from established wineries, as well as international wine reviewers from the Wine Advocate – Joe Czerwinski and Erin Brooks.
