SINGAPORE, 3 April 2017 – 1855 The Bottle Shop (1855 TBS) is proud to announce the third installation of Singapore’s largest wine and whisky event – Wine & Whisky Week (WWW), following the success of its first two editions last year. Slated for 19 to 30 April 2017, this convivial event will up the ante by showcasing even more exciting and value for money wines and spirits.
Highlights include numerous back vintage Bordeaux labels that are ready to drink, a variety of award-winning wines and spirits and a curated section dedicated to 2017’s trending grape varietal of Pinot Noir.
Aptly themed the Spring Edition, WWW will take place at Suntec City East Wing, Level 1 Atrium, Singapore (between Tower 3 & 4) and is free-to-attend for all. As a one-stop tasting, shopping and educational experience, all novices and connoisseurs are in for a treat at this celebration of international wines and whiskies under one roof.
More than 500 wine and whisky labels await visitors, in addition to sampling over 100 labels before making a purchase at attractive prices. Tickets will be available for visitors to gain access to eight Masterclasses to be held over two weekends, presented as fantastic opportunities to heighten their senses during interpretive journeys hosted by international winery representatives and Brand Ambassadors.

Discover 2017’s Trending Wines: Pinot Noir from around the World
An article by Wine Searcher shows that interest in Pinot Noir is at an all-time high with over 13 million searches made in 2016 for wines produced from Pinot Noir grapes. WWW is set to reveal more than 50 labels of Pinot Noir from over 10 wine-producing regions. Here are some of the exclusive labels that visitors can expect;

Whisky lovers will also be spoilt for choice at WWW. An impressive array of in-demand, new and rare whiskies will be available for purchase, amongst them are;
1. Macallan 12 Year Old Fine Oak
Representing a lighter style of The Macallan, this Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky imparts aromas and flavours slightly drier and more oaky than the American oak sherry casks, with more pronounced flavours of citrus, vanilla and coconut.
2. Kavalan Single Malt
The flagship single malt from Taiwan’s Kavalan, this whisky has vowed the world with its signature flavours of tropical fruit, gentle oak and creamy richness. It was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2011 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
3. Nikka Coffee Grain
A release of grain whisky from Japan’s Nikka, produced mainly from corn using one of their continuous Coffey stills. Wonderfully exotic and fruity, it is a whisky for the connoisseur in search of an unconventional whisky.
4. Laphroaig Select Cask
For the Laphroaig Select, the Islay distillery has taken whisky from a number of different types of cask, including Oloroso Sherry butts, white American oak, Pedro Ximenez-seasoned hoggies, quarter casks and first-fill bourbon casks. A fine favourite for its smoky expressions, it is peaty peppered with bright notes of lemon, green apples and mint.
5. Glenmorangie Bacalta
Bacalta is the eight release in Glenmorangie’s annual Private Edition series. Finished in casks which were seasoned with Malmsey Madeira, this is rich and fruity whisky with notes of caramelised apricots, dates, almonds and honeycomb.
