Presents 60 Top Italian Winemakers

One of the world’s most-anticipated Italian Wine tours will be in Singapore for one day only. Gambero Rosso’s exclusive roadshow, a celebration of Italy’s wine craftsmanship at its pinnacle, will be held on:

Friday, 10 March 2017
at CHIJMES, 30 Victoria Street #01 -28, Singapore 187996

Gambero Rosso’s Top Italian Wines Roadshow will present 60 top-notch Italian wineries who will showcase an exquisite selection of wines. Some of these wines have been rated the Tre Bicchieri (‘three glasses’) mark, the worldwide-accepted benchmark award and reference point for excellent quality in wines. The mark has also been chosen as the criteria for access into some of the most important wine monopolies in the world.

A line-up of masterclasses has been organised to help attendees appreciate a selection of award-winning Italian wines. Gambero Rosso’s wine expert, Marco Sabellico, Senior Editor-in-Chief of Vini d’Italia will lead participants on an intimate adventure into Italy’s wine-producing regions and taste 20 different wines in each seating. Mr Lim Hwee Peng, a renowned local wine specialist will also be present to discuss pairing of these wines with Asian and local cuisines.

Hon. Ivan Scalfarotto, Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Economic Development, will grace the event. He will be available for interviews and will share insights on Singapore’s progress into a fast-growing wine-hub in Southeast Asia.

According to Euromonitor (2016), Singapore’s wine-landscape is enjoying a robust growth of CAGR 5%, attributed to Singaporean’s growing appreciation for wines and greater curiosity in artisanal beverages. The latest trade statistics from Euromonitor (2016) showed that Italian Wines has doubled in volume, from 1.3 million litres in 2009 to 2.7 million litres in 2014.

Since 2007, Gambero Rosso’s Top Italian Wines Roadshow has become a well-established strategic platform for penetrating emerging markets and grasping new business opportunities. Italian wine offerings are so rich that they are often confusing for international consumers. To address this, Gambero Rosso selections represent a guaranteed way for promoting knowledgeable, attentive and curious developments of Italian territories. The basic framework employed comprises an extremely rigid selective criteria of quality used for decades by the Vini d’Italia guide, now in its 30th edition. Every year, the guide evaluates over 40,000 national wines. Only 400 wines will receive the prestigious Tre Bicchieri mark.

Italy’s wine world continues to expand its horizons and its commercial success. In 2014, it reached a record of 5.1 billion euros in exports.
